private:at4wireless https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=274120 May 7th, 2012 12:00AM Open Open AT4 Wireless Test Engineer Herndon, VA Unprofessional by local standard - Opportunity to learn how testing is done on wireless devices such as mobile phones. - Gain practical experience about state of the art instruments including in house ones and famous brands. - Experience on testing instrument here may help inexperienced and fresh graduates to get a job in bigger and better company eventually. - This is a Spanish company that recently opened up a branch in USA. I felt that they lack in US professionalism and work environment (don't know whether this is norm in Spain!). Complete lack of professionalism (even engineers were assigned task to assemble furniture and office decoration to save money!) - Upper management is from Spain based parent company and they favors the employees who came from Spain ( or Europe), listen to them more, and are usually made team leader who often lacks leadership ability. - Grooming inexperienced employees are not smooth, even though they occasionally arrange some training program, however no sound plan for that. - This company has a tendency of hiring low-profile employees who are decent enough to get the job done, however not useful for conveying knowledge. So possibility of learning from coworkers are limited. - Job is repeating by nature - once you learn their testing method (does not take more than 3 months) then all you have to do is test multiple devices using same method. -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 1.0 3.0 0.0 2.0 3.0 1.0 274120 Open Try to be professional - adopt American professionalism, show respect to the employees, communicate well with the employees - let them know what you want, Learn effective communication in English - this is not Spain.
