Atari has some of the best classic IP for video game professionals to work on and a truly entrepreneurial environment to try new things.
|
The company has been broken for years and managed by one incompetent team after another. Sadly several of the recent owners haven't cared enough to revive the brand to it's glory days.

A very creative environment and a challenging business to be in. Video, PC and App games are still a forward-thinking industry with room for expansion.

There were frequent management changes resulting in a loss of direction. Also, there were times when no risk was taken as the company continued to shrink in the market.

The long and proud legacy of Atari still permeated the office, and there were some great people there who wanted to carry on.

A bloated infrastructure and an executive team and board that were not with the times brought the company down.

Amazing Pay. Golden handcuffs. Everyone that was not a vice-something was nice-hearted.

Mostly due to a lack of money, nothing of quality could get done. Because of this feeling, no one felt inspired to find creative solutions. Super corporate, very political, and very emotional. Note to anyone getting an executive/vice-something position: It was often said that having an office meant you were cursed to get fired within a year.
