I loved working at Atilus for the first 6 months or so. The team was awesome to work with and I learned something new everyday. The internship was paid which was nice, and we had several fun work events that allowed the team to bond and relax outside of the office. The team is very hardworking, creative, and talented which inspired me to want to be better too.
|
After nine months with the company, I got bored. Things seemed to have plateaued and I wasn't a big fan of sitting at a desk for 8 hours a day. If that doesn't bother you, I would recommend working for this fun, innovative company.

Have more meetings/ morning huddles. Sometimes I felt out of the loop and unable to help when I didn't know about something that was going on. I believe consistently ensuring open communication is key to managing/ developing a good team.

I actually loved where I worked and what I was doing.
Learned so much, great place to get my career started.
Fun and laid back environment, full of goofballs.
Young people and fresh ideas.
Exciting work and always changing.

It would of been nice to have health benefits, but I understand why they didn't offer it.
Stress to complete projects because of such a small staff and high demand of projects (this is also a great thing because I was able to push myself to be better).
Micromanagement at times (it can be distracting and take away from the work - but this was being improved on as I left)

Company culture, amazing clients, daily challenges (the kind that help you grow your skill set), ability to speak candidly with management and provide feedback for change, great leadership and outlook for growth, new awesome office space (with a pool table)
One thing to note specifically is that I've always felt and said like I work WITH the owners (Zach and Harry) rather than FOR them. I think it's rare to find that level of collaboration among company owners and employees.
Another pro is the ability to learn and grow. I first started Atilus out of college with no experience. Without the training, guidance, and on-the-job challenges, I'm certain I wouldn't have grown.

Growing pains (those in upper-level management juggling a lot as clients' needs have changed), lack of staff to help with those growing pains (something that is currently being worked on), client expectations (for a client services position specifically)
