I feel overwhelmed at how often I am asked to work beyond my scheduled shift. We are severely understaffed system-wide and are asked to fill in at other locations when there is an unexpected absence. Pay is lower than Novant. There are a lot of appreciation events and ways to acknowledge good work within the system, which is nice. However, I think most people would just prefer that we be paid something comparable to other healthcare facilities in the area. Insurance is a little lacking. You will be asked to flex out when patient volumes are low, so you can't rely on consistent income. Taking PTO is challenging and I am used to making y own schedule since I work from home but that is highly discouraged and only allowed as an exception, not a rule. Yet management cannot tell you how often that should be. Summer PTO is expected to be asked for in MARCH!! I also think the leads was very helpful in resolving some of the concerns of my colleagues and me. However, if you are looking for a company to grow your career in, this may not be the best choice for you. I went through 4 managers during my time there, and all, except for one, were very passive, lacked communication, provided no feedback on how to further improve my work or assisted me in my development goals.
