Every con about Attendify leads back to the CEO. I should clarify I don't think he was a bad person. But he can't get out of his own way. He had very little trust for his staff in general and needed to be involved frequently for insignificant decisions. Which would take him days to weeks to get back on.
All of his cofounders left the organization at one point or another generally rather abruptly. Compensation was okay but good luck ever getting a raise. You had to go to war to get one. You will never get one simply by just doing well. The CEO was more than happy to allow you work at that rate and never offer anything.
He self-proclaimed at a team-building meeting not to come to him for motivation and validation. Which is fine that he knows that but he never tried or really empowered the few managers he was willing to give some power to do so. To work here and do well you need to be self-motivaited. Attendify will not motivate you.
Of course, there were layoffs in 2020 thanks to COVID. I won't speak to the companies financials in specificity but they were poorly managed which resulted in 90% of the company's more than 50 people being laid off with very little severance or anything. But the company was not doing well prior to that either its unclear how well the company would have survived any financial hiccup.
The CEO had little control over the engineering team at the time, maybe its changed, but they were basically a wild wild west and rarely fixing bugs and often rolling things out without letting anyone on the customer side know it was taking place.
Despite the layoffs its very likely that Attendify used the PPE loans to float itself during the worst of 2020 without hiring anyone back. Which is saying something because its only remaining employees minus, the CEO were all based outside of the US. So all those US stimulus dollars were not even helping American workers.
Again the CEO was a nice enough guy. Definitely not toxic, but he was hard to work with and it was very visible to see how frustrated the leadership team was on working with him on a weekly basis.

Hire and empower real leadership. Stop being a control freak and just take the money to grow the company. After all, this time it's probably not possible to bootstrap your way to the AAR goals with your business management style.

- Still the best team I had a chance to work with - open-minded, cheerful people, great professionals. Some of them even became my close friends.
- The work culture here is also great - the leadership took the best practices out of the American way of doing it. Talking about leadership, management is always open to 1:1 meetings, so you can always book a timeslot and talk through some stuff that worries you. The processes here in general are very transparent.
- Beautiful product.
- You are provided with health insurance, market-rate wage, all hardware that you need.
- All factors above facilitate the process of professional development.

Not really a heavy con, but just be prepared that Attendify is not the type of company that invests heavily in edu. So if you want to take some courses to update yourself professionally, that is your financial burden. Have nothing to add. In general, the feedback is very positive.

- most important - people. There were no bad apples at Attendify. The company treats culture-match for new employees very seriously
- great product, which continues to evolve
- almost no vertical hierarchy. great feedback culture, managers were always seeking feedback from employees
- ability to actually change things/processes and have an impact on the product and the company

there are no significant cons in working in Attendify. if you like working in midsize IT product companies - that's a great place to be at! Especially now, when Attendify has brought one of its kind virtual events solutions on the market.
I'm writing this after I've been laid off during the coronavirus outbreak. The company and managers treated me well and did all they could to mitigate the consequences

More than just a job

For the time I've been working at Attendify, It became more than just a job. It was something more, a second family and a place you would always want to come back to. The most amazing thing about the company is its team - the people there are not only brilliant and highly professional, they are friendly and easy-going, always ready to help and support. Each of the team members has shown Attendify's values many times on their own examples.
The management is also very understanding and supportive, eager to listen and advice. What has amazed me is the transparency and openness of both the management and the workers - no one would try to hide anything, even if something goes wrong.
The work itself was interesting and challenging, there were numerous growth opportunities. I've been closely working in pair with the Customer Success Manager helping her with daily tasks. Except that, there has always been an opportunity to take part in the research team projects or to initiate one of your own! Proactivity and being initiative are the qualities you definitely need for working at Attendify, because here everyone cares and does their best. The management was interested in our growth (both personal and professional) by giving access to various courses, purchasing books, providing English classes, and just being there if you need something.
There can't be enough words to express all me gratitude for this experience. Besides great working conditions, the Operations Team has done a great job on making the team even more family-like by organizing team-buildings, birthday parties, common breakfasts and many more. Thank you for this! Thank you for everything! Hope our paths will cross one day again.
