Company only pays attention to specific teams. Upper and senior management makes zero effort to discuss and resolve workflow issues for staff. This company is a total scam. They claim to be a publisher but they just recycle other publishers stories, dumb them down and then post them on Facebook. The staff on both the advertising and "editorial" side is a revolving door which is a testament to the company.
The founders have no idea how to run a company and think that their hipster LA ways are the ways of business. They aren't. All they do is name drop has been quasi celebrities. It is clear they want to make it in Hollywood and not in NY media.

Their "mission" disappeared as soon as they started getting followers. Incompetent management with some horribly micromanagers. I don't know how they hired managers and I don't want to know. Half the employees were crazily overworked and the other half had nothing to do all day long. The top guys may have known how to start a company but they certainly didn't know how to sustain one.

Excited people, passionate about their craft, nice you aren't just stuck in one space all day (freedom to work in different areas/parts of the office).

I'm so glad I got out when I did. ATTN: uses hot takes on controversial issues to rile people up and get engagement on social, and at the pivotal time I was there -- ramping up to the 2016 election -- this is exactly the type of thing we all now understand played into getting Trump elected. The divisiveness, the Russian interference...ATTN: didn't just profit off the whole 'ticking people off in the Facebook comments' thing. It's their entire business model.
Aside from the ethical issues there, I'll just echo what everyone else has said: Salary isn't up to market standard and there's absolutely no attention to work/life balance -- the hours bleed before and after your job to make you available for 12+ hours a day. I remember one editor wanting to exercise before work and she was literally told no because they needed her on-call....this was at, like, 6am, mind you. How is this sustainable for any person? That's part of the reason why the turnover rate is so high.

I have never felt more degraded than when I worked at ATTN:. At similar jobs, I was always praised for my work. At ATTN:, under qualified managers with less experience than me, would constantly criticize my work and not constructively. The managers at this company know they are under-qualified and try to make up for it by belittling those of us that work under them. They were truly horrible people and believe karma is going to get them some day.

They only care about money and likes. Top management is full of micro managers. No foresight, poor decision making when it comes to employee management. Consistently hires under qualified people, more on HR than anything... you’d think they’d catch it after 7 interviews.
