Be forthcoming with employees. On my last review before I quit, I was told my lack of enthusiasm was holding me back from advancing, and getting additional responsibility. When I had been previously asking over and over again for advancement, and additional responsibility. You were just not ready to advance me. If you had been honest about that, and not wanting to move me up in my role, I would have rated you higher.

Great first job out of college

- Everybody is so nice and friendly.
- Every engineer works as a team to solve problems.
- Awesome learning environment
- Full kitchen stocked with food and drinks
- Awesome softball team

Ever since the acquisition by Alibaba, everything fell apart. Some great projects were terminated because Alibaba thought those projects were competing with their existing products. So, engineers were laid off. The branch in San Jose was closed down. Great employees in the Chico branch were slowly leaving because it seems there was no clear direction with Auctiva after it was sold.

Perhaps bring every employee up to speed to what's going on before the acquisition. They could then be prepared no matter what the outcome was. By terminating some projects and closing down the branch in San Jose all of a sudden, some employees took it very hard.

- Very talented group of engineers
- Will be given time to learn the technologies the company uses
- Great work/life balance
- Decent benefits apart from base pay.
- Engineers are respected for the work they do.

- Pay is poor. Not competitive with companies in the Chico area.
- Hard to get promoted
- Upper management does not have a vision for the company. Within 2 years, the company shifted its focus too many times
- Very little reuse of what is already built. If they start something new, similar useful projects are just thrown away.

Solid software development practices and departments. Very nice place to work. Very competitive salaries for Northern CA.

While I was there, the constant shuffling of teams and projects left something to be desired. Made it a bit hard for a manager to get a core group developers to work together cohesively.

I'm sure management is different than while I was there - but I would say make sure to take care of your good team leads. Because they are the cornerstone of all the projects, and if they jump ship it's a huge hit to the company.

Great job but not necessarily a great career

Great opportunity for junior engineers to jump in and contribute. Within a month of joining the company I was given a very large and important project. It felt really awesome to have that much trust straight out of the gate. It was a great way for me to build a foundation for the rest of my career.

Senior management isn't interested in employee's ideas. A co-worker of mine had a great idea to provide an innovative and delightful experience to our users. Our idea was shot down. A few months later a competitor implemented the idea and stole a lot of our customers.
