Okay place to work.

Working for a non profit organization you are working on limited funds. Loved all my colleagues that I worked with. Benefits were not great. Salaries were okay. Working environment was good.

I am so sad that Austin Recovery has shuttered most of their operations. Before, however, this was a beautiful organization with support staff members, a safe work environment, and fair compensation. Great PTO, great coworkers, great work tasks. I worked as much a residential care staff (entry level job) and a substance use counselor (with a masters degree), and I felt that I was contributing just as much in the former as in the latter. Miss you, Austin Recovery.

It’s a good company to work for I learned a lot. Is a nonprofit they don’t pay that well. I didn’t work there for money I work here to help clients in the recovery.

In early2020 everything was great mission & leaders all was changed new leaders came in and now culture is one of not valuing staff rude men in charge

Company does not promote it's own mission with the employees nor 12 step program. Some staff relapse often. Toxic environment.

Do not waste your time working at AR. People should not give time or money to this place. After 50+ years in the community it should be a better example for work and recovery but it is not by far! Narrow minded leadership. Always short staffed and unsafe. Very poor boundaries with drugs and violence on the ranch. If you like your love one send them elsewhere. Senior staff doesn't work.

I was hired in finance dept, a week later I was assigned a new supervisor, (I WAS NEVER TOLD MY SUPERVISOR WOULD BE A DIFFERENT PERSON AT HIRING) she was the rudest, crudest, unprofessional cpa I have ever encountered. My coworker said she would have been in tears to receive the emails I was sent, I had to quit that job because of her, the director at the time was so kind, but had no clue how much of a hag he put in place as a manager. Since then, this Rude, cpa has moved on to several other jobs, I don't wonder why, she is at boon group now, good riddance hag cpa

AR likes to believe it's a great place to work. It is if you're management. Managers do almost nothing and leave all the real work to the underpaid staff.
Rated one if the best places to work in Austin? Hardly... Tell me how many people can live on $11.00 an hour?

Compassionate workplace with positive/motivated coworkers

It is a very rewarding experience working here at AR. I have a great working relationship with my boss, she has taught me so much and i really enjoy what i do. Leadership is very transparent about what is going with the agency and the culture is getting better and better every day! The hardest part about my job is it is not consistent sometimes not a lot is going on and then the next day everything is happening at once but it has taught me to multitask like a pro.
