The nice dinners and free snacks in the office were a plus. Other than that, there aren't much positives to say about this company.

Management is a complete joke. The office I worked at was based off of favoritism. There is no diversity whatsoever. Majority of the brokers were demanding and rude. The rest of the staff were always gossiping and demeaning. The overall environment felt like a grown-up frat.

AY blamed COVID 19 but it is their own fault! Poor cash management!

When the company laid off 10% in APRIL 2020, they blamed COVID 19. They should have really blamed THEMSELVES and poor management of cash throughout the years. COVID 19 had not even impacted the financials at that point in time. This company has been so mismanaged by the C-SUITE for years! Too many acquiring of highly paid partnerships that do NOT make any business and the C-SUITE has NO VISION except their own pockets! COVID 19 is just an excuse for this company and it will eat them alive in the future and Avison Young will NEVER recover! The company itself is just CHAOS and it starts at the top. The CHAOS is at every person within the top level. It is pervasive within AY. This company is so badly run it is unbelievable. When the top executives give company speeches it is embarrassing. They ramble. They are ill-prepared. They cannot even take responsibility for the company performance nor can they even speak to the company's bad performance nor do they even provide the truth about the company's performance. AY likes to think they can play ball with JLL or CBRE but they are ill-equipped at the top level. Wipe the top level clean and maybe just maybe they could play ball.

Advice to management - Be truthful to the employees. Start being honest that you all are not qualified to run AY and step away. Stop running AY into the ground. Stop hiring brokers who don't bring anything into AY! Allocate something to the real people at AY who do all the work! Stop giving COLA raises and give real raises! Advice to CDPQ – get rid of all of the C-SUITE! Everything at AY is sub-par!
