AVOXI is a very stable company with startup passion. With about 120 employees, everyone's work directly impacts the deliverables, which gives meaning to every task. The company direction is very clear and management does a good job with consistently communicating expectations and goals.
There's lot of room for career development and everyone is encouraged to provide feedback/solutions to processes that could be improved. Management is continuously keeping track of employee happiness and making sure they show their appreciation to all employees.
The Charleston office has amazing furniture and coworkers are a lot of fun. It's an enjoyable place to spend the week.

I really enjoy this company for many reasons. The work in customer service definitely keeps you busy and on your toes but there is plenty of friendly support from the team. AVOXI also has several get-togethers throughout the year to encourage teambuilding. I'd also really like to stress that people in the company are treated like actual people. AVOXI recognizes your individual talent and personality.

AVOXI doesn't really have many downfalls. The company is growing really fast and I fear that the company is slow to recognize the amount of support that is needed and will be needed in the future if it continues to expand.

A Buffet of Personality and Personal Growth

Software engineering is still a small enough family that it's up to you how far you want to go. If you show initiative, you're generally allowed to grow and pick up new things. Learning and growth is encouraged from the top. If you're hungry, you can eat pretty well here. There's even a running non-fiction book club that meets once a week with pretty good participation.
Everyone seems open to new ideas, there's not a lot of egos getting in the way. It feels like there's good overall direction at the moment. Attitudes are positive, people will take time out of their day to help you out.
Software engineering practices are pretty good. There's an emphasis on testing, style, good peer review, automation, and everyone owning the work collectively. The stack is modern without a gross amount of tech debt, but all code is tech debt on some level. As far as engineering horror stories go, there's not a lot here. There's a lot of work to do though, and some corners were cut to get started. If it was perfect, they wouldn't need you.
The company is pretty transparent about how things are going, we are updated weekly for the company progress overall.
Not a lot of meetings if you aren't in senior management. Individual contributors in software engineering will mostly only have standup, monthly retros, and the occasional one-offs.
The rest of the people at the company seem like the nicest people I have ever met. They get people birthday cards and stuff, I'm not really used to that. Thanksgiving had an enormous pot luck lunch where everyone brought something in. It was so much better than some anonymously catered situation. Since everyone put something into it, it had personality. That's kind of how the rest of the culture is. Everyone puts something of theirs in, it's nice.

It's not a software company, yet. This is an existing business that has been around a long time, with startup aspirations. That's a good thing in some ways, but can be a shock if you're coming from an "engineers first" culture. No coconut water. I don't necessarily consider this a con, but it can be somewhat of a wakeup call to rejoin the real world. It's also fairly frugal, there is not a lot of waste, and let's be honest, wasting money is a lot of fun.
Software engineering could be closer to the rest of the company, there's not as much departmental mixing as I'd like.
ATL and Charleston need to be closer together and I don't mean geographically

The team at AVOXI is close-knit. While everyone has their own responsibilities to tend to, EVERYONE is willing to go the extra mile to help you out in a time of need. Employee and Customer-Centric culture- Unlimited PTO (be reasonable), Opportunities to work remotely if needed, Great benefits and I hear that Senior Leadership is pushing to make them even better.

I don't know that it is necessarily a con, but you could be asked to "wear different hats" should a new need arise. For me, this is fundamental in a person's professional development. However, for someone that just wants their respective "checklist" set in stone to focus on, I guess this is something that should be considered.

i been working in AVOXI for 15th years already. This company is just a great place to work, the team work is just fantastic and something i like is that you can chat up to the CEO of the company without having any inconvenience and they are always there to listen and even take actions to make the work environment the best for every employ needs.
Probably employ is not the work since we are like a family and always try to keep it like that.
For me, this 15th years has been wonderful and still learning more and more every day.

you may used to read this phrase on every review people do about their jobs but here in AVOXI there isn't really downsides. Just like any other place if you do what been asked to do and work as a team giving the best, probably will not going to found any downside anywhere.
