Everyone is easy to get along with. Very nice office.
|
Pay: Near poverty wages for a Seattle Sales job. Your commission checks will actually keep getting smaller. They also transfer Sales immediately from an AE to an AM & if the customer cancels, they take it out of the AM's check (who didn't sell it)
Completely unprofessional: People are having a party while you're on the phone.
Little to no diversity: They seem only interested in having a predominantly White, male Sales floor & they behave like they're in a fraternity. They let some people stay at home on office days all the time when they're not sick.
Management is extremely inexperienced & they give preferential treatment. They help who they like. If they don't like you they'll set you up for failure & just not help you.
They completely ignore how their top sales reps actually lose more than they earn the company monthly because they're dishonest & sell a bunch of 3 month contracts that cancel. Lately a lot of attorneys are canceling in the 1st or 2nd month, and they take it out of the AM's check vs addressing the AE who actually sold it.
Zero flexibility: They want you in the office, 3 days a week literally glued to your desk, pounding calls nonstop.
No morals or integrity: People are cramming customers w/ contracts by giving them false promises.. anything to get them to sign the contract. Every day you will have a few angry people, as well as a few cancels a week! It's the highest customer churn you will EVER see.
Office: Has an unlimited supply of candy, junk food & sweets because they only let you have a 30 minute lunch. They've got about 12 options, all EXTREMELY bad for your health, because they want everyone amped.

This isn't a Sales job it's Customer Service & you need to just change the job title.
Stop killing your staff with pounds of sugar. Provide healthy options like fruit & nuts.
Any reputable Sales job has clear, written rules of engagement.
Stop cheating people out of commissions subjectively.
Create a fair living wage. This is WAY below Seattle pay ranges for the amount of work.
Stop ignoring blatant unethical behavior to keep revenue

Cool office space with good snacks.

They don't not provide good feedback and always try to find faults with your work. I went on be a successful AE at another tech company so it's clear the hostile environment fostered here wasn't working.

Office is spacious because an entire floor is vacant & most of the sales floor is empty space, it's just a skeleton crew now. People leave & get fired here very often, even if managers are personally nice it's hard to ever feel safe or comfortable.

More product training. This would benefit as ongoing throughout employment. I believe that if this company invested more in employees for sales training and identifying opportunities, I believe that Avvo would have less of a turnover. Even the best teams need training.

I was provided with a large book of business which included some significantly large accounts, making quota attainable. Management is very caring across all teams and provides great support. The office is nice and modern.

Avvo needs to invest more in marketing to the general public. I also felt internet brands are forcing too much change at once and that is causing our clients to be confused and ultimately frustrated. I understand changes must be made in a business to move forward but felt that initiatives were being implemented before they were fully ironed out.
