Big disappointment - Don't waste your time
Free lunch, convenient midtown location
I worked at Ayasdi for a few months in their tiny and dirty NY office. The job was ok, there was a lot of unclear job responsibilities and I found management to be disrespectful and unprofessional. The office environment was very depressing and uneasy and swearing and peer belittling was commonplace.
At the start of the pandemic they abruptly ended my contact with no advance notice and no extra financial security so that i would be 'ok' during a major pandemic. Not only that, I was not paid on payday and had to send several email communications to find out when I was going to get my last paycheck, so that I could pay my rent, which is last thing someone wants to do during a very scary and stressful time.
Also, there was a hefty amount of favoritism towards certain people in the company.
I really regret leaving my former job to work at Ayasdi. It was a big disappointment.

New leadership, new focus
Start up environment, lots of smart people trying to solve important problems backed by great technology. Leadership is very open and supportive and there is a good working atmosphere.
A few legacy issues to be ironed out but the new focus is now in full execution

Fun, honest leadership
Its really interesting to watch how this firm its turning around. The CEO sends a note to the whole company every week as though we are all shareholders. The transparency - the good and the bad is great.
We have legacy to recover. A review in May shows the bitterness of the failed legacy team. But I am enjoying it here. I feel valued and listened to.

A New Ayasdi in 2020
Having been with Ayasdi over year, I've seen a tremendous change since 2020 kicked off. Simon Moss, current CEO, has breathed fresh life into the company by leading with consistent and transparent company wide communications and pushing teams harder than previously pushed, while providing reward and recognition when due. While this may not be for everyone, it is necessary to turn this company around. Where Ayasdi's outlook previously looked dismal, it's been turned around and will most assuredly reach tremendous success.
This is not the place for someone who isn't willing to work hard and play hard. This is no 9-5 job, so if that's what you're looking for, you're looking in the wrong spot. If, however, you understand the need to work hard for great success...this is the place for you.

Good people, good technology, terribly flawed company
Brilliant people, Gunnar is a legend
Where to start? Ridiculously high turnover at all levels, and the CEO is the wrong person for the job. They've had a half-dozen people in charge of sales in the past few years, and none lasted more than a year. The product is interesting, but no one wants to buy it.

An under-appreciated company
Interesting work and friendly people. HR and management tries their best to make people happy. Excellent relationship between teams and plenty of opportunities to contribute (not restricted to current role).
Lack of communication from higher-ups regarding direction of the company. Sometimes, lack of deep technical expertise in engineering and technical leadership leads to decisions that slowly kill the product.
