An amazing legacy which has helped the company grow nationwide. The company has a "family" feel to it which probably extends from it being a family owned business. The culture is wonderful - very competitive but extremely supportive. I have never seen sales people be so helpful to each other while still remaining so competitive.
Company is willing to invest in its people and infrastructure. It is nice to see the company want to remain private while doing so. You always feel supported from every level of the organization. There is a very big "team" mentality which is refreshing.

Flexibility, growth, earning potential, small enough to still feel appreciated, passionate executive leaders, team atmosphere, emphasis on constant learning, several leaders within the company all willing to share best practices. Can't say enough good about the CEO, and the president is well liked and accessible, excellent opportunity to meet people in the luxury space. Oh, and getting to wear fancy clothing never sucks!

Typical growing pains associated with small companies, but if you embrace that environment, and you want to learn how to essentially build and run your own book of business, they have great systems and support in place. This job will be what you make of it. Balani provides the assets you need to be successful.

CULTURE! This company, like none I've personally ever worked for, has a SOLID culture and they clearly hold it near and dear to their core values. From the top down, the true "team" mentality is no joke. They also ENCOURAGE a work/life balance. The base plus commission model is not the norm in this industry, but very much appreciated for those getting started out. The training is very practical and real-life, the leadership is available and eager to help when needed but there is also enough independence to really grow your own "business" within the business. I see this as a very long-term career and I am excited to grow with the company and the brand!

Only bad review I’ve EVER written about an employer. Only job I EVER quit. Disheartening experience.

Some really great people in the company who I will miss. Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to meet them face-to-face.

— From my experience, it seems they OVERpromise and UNDERdeliver in terms of the company itself, training, transparency, opportunity, caring about their people, etc.
— One “clothier” proclaims the sale is all just B.S. It makes me sad that product knowledge isn’t more enforced. Fortunately, many others in the company really do know their stuff.
— From discussions with other former coworkers, it appears as if the company may have a pattern of not supporting employees who voice a workplace issue (particularly if you are a woman it seems) or even taking your concerns, experiences, or fears seriously, and instead points the finger back at you, despite you providing concrete evidence and having reported, and documented, multiple things prior to bringing it up to the company heads.
— In my case, they actually acted illegally (yes, the illegality of every single action step has been confirmed by multiple lawyers) in response to the concerns and fears I voiced. Ultimately, I was put in a position where I felt I had no other choice but to quit. I loved my work, the clients, etc. etc. (I still greatly miss all of that) and I was succeeding. There were no plans on my end or theirs of me leaving (in fact, a few days before, I was being presented with great opportunities...) until I voiced my fears; that’s when everything changed. Unfortunately, while the list of illegal steps is definitely too long to detail here, let’s just say it’s a much bigger matter than they anticipate.

Familiarize yourself with the law, truly care about those you manage, invest in your people and not just the ones pulling in the most sales as it seems you tend to favor (some of them you want there of course, as some are great people, and ultimately you’ll want everyone succeeding, but just hitting decent numbers does not necessarily indicate that person is the kind of quality person you want to represent your company), don’t just buy into the answer that is the easier one for you when it’s obvious the other person has legitimate concerns, actually investigate complaints, don’t take claims of sexual harassment or other harassment and manipulation so lightly, don’t speak to your female employees in a condescending way and don’t allow any employee to speak that way to any other employee or client be they male or female, and use intelligence and logic when handling situations. I continued to assist some clients and situate all upcoming appointments (so prospects wouldn’t be left hanging, the conversations we’ve had would be relayed, etc. etc.) even after I quit, and still made myself available if coworkers had any questions. I would think that’s the type of person you would want working for you...someone who handles all the details, someone who sees things through to their completion, someone who truly cares about their work (even when not getting paid), someone who goes above and beyond for, and genuinely cares about, their clients. A used car salesman type does not represent your company in the best light. You truly do have so much potential, but you need to adjust and address some things. In many cities, you actually have that type of person that makes Balani look fantastic. They are great with sales, but legitimately care about their clients, and are top-quality people. I know, as I’ve had the pleasure of connecting with them. Unfortunately, in the LA branch, I’ve heard via coworkers all the way to the top management that you’ve consistently had problems with people since opening up shop here, and have had significant turnover. I am truly concerned about the welfare of your L.A. showroom left as it is.
