What an awesome company! Interesting projects and one of the very few companies that give back to the community. It also helps that there are young people and also employees who have been there for 25 plus years. Everyone is willing to help one another, and it's gratifying to know people want to stay in the company for a very long time.

Management is promoted from technical roles, so they understand problems in the trenches. Great culture and coworkers. Interesting projects.

The reason I've seen people leave is because they get assigned to a project they don't enjoy. Rather than riding it out for a year or two, until their next assignment is available, they just leave.

Starting pay is great. Benefits are great. Facilities are great. Relocation is great. Co-workers are friendly. Management is decently friendly.
|
Upward mobility is very limited and based almost exclusively on time on the job, not effort. This kills morale of those who do try to advance or become recognized through doing good work. To stand out, you have to be willing to work huge amounts of over-time.
Ball doesn't take career advancement or goals as seriously as they say. It feels like hype more than actual intent.
