I was lucky to have great managers who were effective communicators and allowed me autonomy to do my job well. Benefits were good overall. I was deeply disappointed in the lack of support for highly sensitive HR issues. Behavior was condoned that I deeply disagree with on an ethical level. I had never submitted HR complaints in my career prior to Bard, but encountered several distressing behaviors there that I felt impacted my work environment in a concerning and negative way. My immediate managers were supportive as expected, but I deeply disagree with the handling by upper management. Though my immediate managers were amazing, I rate the company as a 1 because the above had such a significant impact on the overall experience. There is now a different director of H.R. whoI have great respect for, but unless the practices of upper management were to change, I don't imagine she can change the company culture on her own. No upward mobility. Special emphasis on inclusivity, diversity amongst tour guides, I believe tour guides should be paid more given the nature of the job.
