There is a definitely a "good ol'boy" feel to BW. That is incredibly discouraging - and so widespread that it undermines their stated culture. People were leaving before me, at the same time as me, and after me, and others have reached out that they are looking: and not just disgruntled malcontents, but long time cornerstones who really want them to succeed. It's not just one department either - it's systemic. Bottom line: when you build your reputation on strong culture, and fail to deliver on that, you're not going to keep strong talent. Stop simply promoting people who are experts at one thing into completely different roles that they are not experts at (or at least coach them and help them once they are there!). This creates an echo-chamber, stifles improvement and innovation, and creates a strong perception of elitism that is relatively undeserved. Real opportunity for professional and personal growth. Lean is a key mantra, but not completely/thoroughly implemented yet. As with most businesses, the focus can often be on the fiscal quarter/year rather than true Lean. Only an issue for the Lean purist!
