Base Pair is a great place to start as a young researcher. Colleagues and supervisors are always available to help with your questions or make it through challenges faced as a researcher. With the rapport that exists among the employer and employees, it has created a good working environment in the company.

With Base pair being a great place to work, there is still room for improvement. Information dissemination can get better with everyone involved irrespective of being a scientist or an associate. It keeps everyone abreast with latest developments or projects within the company. Moreover, every ones opinion on projects and internal issues should be welcomed and assessed with same magnitude irrespective of the person's position in the company.

Management micromanages the researchers and ignores scientific reason, very uncomfortable work environment for women and toxic environment overall, underpaid and over worked. If you don't stay late, you are considered a "clock watcher" and unwilling to help the company succeed. Blindside employees with unnecessary and derogatory criticism. No room for advancement, VERY high turnover rate, and favoritism. HR dept is essentially nonexistent, all concerns go directly to the CEO and are not confidential... immense HR issues. Employees treated as expendable.

Poor Management and no ethics

Absolutely no work/life balance. It's expected of all workers to work overtime or "your heart is not invested into the company". Favoritism towards certain employees who don't fall under certain policies. Very poor management who changes policies on a daily-bases. Female discrimination. Faul mouthing previous employees.

Experience with developing aptamers, ability to deliver products, collaborative work environment, flexible research. Working with our CSO and research team is a pleasure in that they are highly knowledgeable in determining protocols for highest chance of success and flexible in their approach to each custom project. Organization in a very nascent environment is high.
|
Start up environment is fast paced, product is not well known in the market so skepticism is high. Company is collecting information but because the products will be a competitive advantage in diagnostics and therapeutics most customers prefer not to share their experiences.
