NONE-This "College" is under severe financial duress... Following the appointment of a new president, (Dr. Steven Combs) this institution has little care or concern for their current BSC student body, or the needs, of, or any foundational growth, nor the employees entrusted to implement the services of Bay State College's students... An institution in total flux, Bay State College has yet to determine if they are coming or going (most likely, going)... More an entrepreneurial endeavor, this tiny school (that couldn't) has yet to prove they are equipped (and able to) provide any significant opportunities to the students who entrust their eduction and signifiant investment to Bay State College's care, or their overall learning investment in BSC's on-ground or online educational model. Moreover, diversity is considered a hindrance at BSC- especially in upper management, where, color, creed and sexuality can negatively affect your role, at the institution. Diversity is looked upon unfavorably, and considered an obstacle from the perception of the newly-appointed President... Instead, the school is directed by the expectations of their owners: "Ambow Education"-an omnipresent Chinese owner, and FOR PROFIT company on the New York Stock Exchange, solely guided and interested in profit, and profit alone... Bay State College and Ambow Education have proceeded in cutting every corner since this president's arrival (June 2020). Bay State College is experiencing SEVERE financial duress and is hemorrhaging funds, despite the current president's "leadership" and (in)ability to turn the institution around, including his limiting of scholarship and academic funding- "my strength is in helping underperforming schools and turning them around."... It is only a matter of time before the Titanic (Bay State College) *actually* hits the iceberg... Dr. Combs is more interested in an authoritarian and dictatorship appointment, and less concerned about the overall success and lifelong growth of the organization or Bay State College, as an institution. This appointment is merely a stepping stone, (in which to list on his resume) and less about the overall health or growth of this fledgling institution. He is charged with cleaning up the MANY INFRACTIONS brought-forth by the Department of Education and NECHE, of which anyone would be wise to question and investigate.. . Further, it's worth mentioning the infractions of a 2017 lawsuit in which the Massachusetts Department of Education is involved in researching the Admissions Agreements of Bay State College's students, and the admissions practices they once pursued... I would strongly caution anyone from considering employment, or entrusting their professional career, or studies to an institution such as Bay State College. This institution is severely lacking in basic educational resources or competent management, (Dr. Combs doesn't count) let alone trustworthy oversight from its Administration or Management... I have witnessed firsthand their poor leadership style and inability to successfully manage an institution, and was extremely concerned about the future health of this institution, despite the significant changes and improvements I, and my team had implemented prior to Dr. Combs' disapproval... I want nothing to do with this institution, professionally speaking and wish everyone well. Bay State College is under severe financial duress and has one priority in mind: PROFIT., AND PROFIT ALONE! It's unfortunate that this once independent college has succumb to the greedy ownership of the Chinese and is guided by one principal, alone: PROFIT. The leadership is spearheaded and injudiciously guided by its president, Dr., Steven Combs, who, suspiciously left his tenure in Maryland to oversee a failing, for-profit college in Boston, MA. One would be wise to inquire as to the motives of Dr. Combs, especially during a pandemic... Regardless of student or employee status, think twice before this incompetent organization recruits you (and trust me, they'll try) before quickly spiting you out, as per many professional experiences to date... I can tell you first-hand, education management is something to be respected and appreciated. However, unfortunately, Bay State College and the only thing guiding their 'North Star" is profit, and profit alone... Opportunity. Pay and more. I’ve been with this company for about 4 months now and I’ve been the happiest I’ve been in a while. I’ve worked for other u universities but this college is the first I’ve felt respected and professional. Being a part of the higher education sector, many colleges and departments can be catty and unprofessional and cliquey, but not here. There is no such thing as micromanagement, you are give a job description and trusted to do it. My thoughts are heard and acknowledged, and after many years of searching for peace within a job, I have finally found it.
