Attorneys Genuinely Care & Relaxed Work Environment

I have a lot of autonomy in my position at Belluck & Fox and have gotten to know attorneys and staff on both a personal and professional level (and can attest to the fact that they are truly good people!). Attorneys and paralegals genuinely care about their clients and have a lot of compassion for those suffering from mesothelioma or any other injuries. The work environment at Belluck & Fox is also quite relaxed.

There are no secretaries, so administrative work must be done by oneself.

Friendly Work Environment

For the time that I've worked at Belluck & Fox, I have always experienced a friendly work environment. The office has a family-like feel and offers plenty of opportunities for learning and growth as long as you have a go-getter attitude. With an open door policy, management is accessible and I have always felt comfortable going to the partners with any problems or questions that I have.

Workloads can get pretty heavy at times; because of it's small size, you have to be ready and willing to work hard

Flexible Schedule, Vacation, sick and personal days. I have been working at Belluck & Fox full time for over a year and have good things to say about the company. To start, the dress code is very relaxed. Your not required to wear corporate attire so you can wear jeans everyday if you prefer. The partners are very friendly and I find them very approachable. Co-workers are nice, including the attorneys. You get full exposure to cases that you are assigned and working on. If you are thinking of going to law school or wanted to be a career paralegal, this is a great place to get that law firm experience. Since it is a small law firm, you are not just a number. You are a part of the potential success in these cases.
Everyone is important at Belluck & Fox because each case is a team effort.

Many opportunities to gain experience working with senior staff attorneys.
|
Employees with seniority at the firm feel comfortable making wildly inappropriate comments and HR is nonexistent. Female attorneys are quite literally segregated to the far end of the office. There is a double standard for the way attorneys are treated well above the support staff. Benefits are terrible. Upper management is anything but transparent.

This is a great job for a student living in NYC.
|
Post-graduation there isn't that much space to grow here, but that's understandable as you need a JD to really do anything useful.
