private:biggerpockets https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1079095 Dec 18th, 2020 12:00AM Open Open BiggerPockets Anonymous United States USA Coworkers are great, CEO and leadership is a nightmare - All the entry level/non-management employees that work at this company are amazing, hard working, funny and great to hang out with. - Good benefits, work from home, free food, fun events from time to time. I don't even know where to start: - The CEO is a really hard person to communicate with, yet, every employee is responsible for directly reporting strategy and results to him at least on a monthly basis. Even more if he decides to focus in on you at any given time. I had to deliver presentations to the board at times due to his requests. He only cares about numbers and the bottom line, speaks harshly to employees and probably couldn't tell you even one personal fact about anyone that works there. - There is a particular girl there in a management position that is gossipy, spreads personal information about other employees freely, and is general a really horrible choice for leadership that continues to get promotions. - Culture has become horrible, I have heard of multiple departures since I left months ago. - HR is difficult to speak to because although very sweet, I don't feel confident anything was properly relayed from HR to upper management because even she is too worried about how management might retaliate. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 1.0 2.0 4.0 1.0 1.0 4.0 1.0 1079095 Open - I feel confident management received any advice I had whilst working there and didn't care and won't care now. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 4.0 Jan 10th, 2021 04:29PM Jan 10th, 2021 04:29PM BiggerPockets Financial Services
private:biggerpockets https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1079095 Jan 29th, 2020 12:00AM Open Open BiggerPockets Social Media Manager Denver, CO Best Place I've Ever Worked! Rewarding and Fun. BiggerPockets is far and away the best place I've ever worked. Management is trusting of their employees to own their positions and roles. They are open about accommodating near any request to make work life easier. Professional development is strongly encouraged and funded by the company. Benefits are very competitive. This is not to mention the culture: it's a fun, dog-friendly office, with an open layout, kitchen, and ability to work from home whenever needed. I enjoy spending time with coworkers when I take breaks from my work. Additionally, the company's focus on empowering individuals' financial education not only helps us as employees, but also makes the job extremely rewarding. I hear stories on a daily basis about how BiggerPockets has literally changed peoples' lives. I honestly have to think to come up with cons. It is a bear sometimes to work with a growing team, as expectations around team meetings, perks, etc. change. With change come occasional complaints from employees who have worked here longer, but typically this change isn't negative; it's just necessary to, say, ensure 50 voices aren't all talking during meetings. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 0.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 1079095 Open Keep doing what you're doing! I know it's difficult working with a growing team, but I can confidently say I'm happy with the transition (particularly because it means I got the opportunity to work here!) 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 1.0 Jan 10th, 2021 04:29PM Jan 10th, 2021 04:29PM BiggerPockets Financial Services
private:biggerpockets https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1079095 Sep 9th, 2019 12:00AM Open Open BiggerPockets Current Employee Denver, CO Company with a good mission + great culture I joined BiggerPockets because of the mission and culture. There's been a lot of change over the last year to focus on growing the team. The People Operations Lead and the CEO very obviously care about team health (like literally health and wellness), team retention, and team happiness, and you can tell by the way that people talk about the company that all this change is great. I'm super happy at BiggerPockets and my non-BP friends are jealous at the way the company promotes a good culture—they don't just pretend to have a good culture. They seem to understand that happy employees mean hard-working, motivated employees. The CEO and people here are humble, admit mistakes, are very transparent about metrics, and give credit where credit is due. As any company gets bigger, there's more need for certain roles/responsibilities, which sometimes mean you do more than you were hired to do—but I actually think this is a really good thing. That's how you learn and grow and how you add value to a team. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 1.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 1079095 Open Take the time to understand why projects might take longer than expected to deliver and then keep celebrating little wins with the team. Celebrate every member of the team equally, not just the cross-functional ones who work with a lot of people and are a little more "visible." (This is already good but I'd love to see even more of this!) 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 1.0 Jan 10th, 2021 04:29PM Jan 10th, 2021 04:29PM BiggerPockets Financial Services
private:biggerpockets https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1079095 Aug 29th, 2019 12:00AM Open Open BiggerPockets Software Engineer United Kingdom GBR A fun, stable company BiggerPockets is a company that has a lot of fun. Day-to-day atmosphere is relatively informal, but not at the expense of focus or direction. Senior management is transparent about a lot of things. Individuals at the company have the opportunity to be as engaged as they want with the product - even down to running their own projects themselves, regardless of the function of their role. Everyone approaches the development of the product with a strong sense of pride in what we do. BiggerPockets as a company feels very stable. It's been around for a while and there's no reason to believe that longevity will not continue into the future. Overall compensation is great, but there is still room for improvement. Competitive, but not exactly industry-leading. Perhaps the company is a little too metrics-obsessed. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 0.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 3.0 4.0 1079095 Open 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 2.0 Jan 10th, 2021 04:29PM Jan 10th, 2021 04:29PM BiggerPockets Financial Services
private:biggerpockets https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1079095 Aug 16th, 2019 12:00AM Open Open BiggerPockets Software Engineer Denver, CO Excellent Company with Great Culture BiggerPockets is an employer that really cares about and values their employees. One of the biggest reasons that I love working here is that everyone is very open to suggestions and ideas to improve our product. If you can justify why an idea would be a win for the company, you will most likely get the green light to do it. The company really values its employees and tries to make everyone feel special, from having team events once a quarter to providing regular bonuses. The culture here is unparalleled and everyone in the office is good friends, as well as coworkers. One of the biggest pros about the culture is that overworking is actually discouraged. Everyone has lives outside of work and goes home by five o' clock. There are no unrealistic expectations of 60+ hour weeks. Right now, we are growing very rapidly and there have been some small shifts in culture, but nothing outside of regular growing pains 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 1.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 4.0 5.0 1079095 Open Measuring developer throughput is a hard problem that no one has really solved. private:biggerpockets https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1079095 Jun 6th, 2019 12:00AM Open Open BiggerPockets Advertising Sales Denver, CO Where hardwork and fun meet! BiggerPockets offers the best work environment I have ever been a part of. Everyone is working towards their own individual goals, which leads up to helping accomplish the larger goal for the entire business. We do this all while still having fun team events outside of the office and also honing our ping pong skills. There are a lot of one person departments so sometimes you may be working on your projects solo, but people are always more than willing to sit down and bounce ideas around if you get stuck. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 1.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 1079095 Open 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 2.0 Jan 10th, 2021 04:29PM Jan 10th, 2021 04:29PM BiggerPockets Financial Services

Fun, hard-working, and laid back. - Collaboration -- I have found that people here are especially willing to jump in and help you out with a new project or initiative. -Flexibility and opportunity -- if you're willing to make a data-driven case for why you want to work on something, there is a 99% chance leadership will let you do it, even if it falls outside of your job description. -Minimal busy work or burdensome process We are growing fast, and growing pains are a real thing. Relatively low-stress environment. Pretty good amount of autonomy within set tasks. The company is growing and finding its footing as it grows. This is sometimes exciting and often times frustrating.
