Very little formal training for job tasks, Way too much "cookie cutter" corporate training, parent corporate culture is very rigid. Small size means not many women in engineering or manufacturing.

Much of the corporate training from the parent company is just buzzwords on top of buzzwords. No one here is foolish - we all understand capitalism, just be honest that the goal is to make more money and spend less money to do so. Would save the 40 minutes of beating around the bush to avoid saying it outright.

Generally enjoyable place to work

Very laid back staff, very approachable at all levels. Laid back environment, got to wear shorts and sandals during the summer, as did the founder of the company. Great sense of camaraderie, even with the higher ups.
|
Office building seemed to be in disrepair on a constant basis. Leaks in the ceilings in some places along with inconsistent air conditioning/heating made it hard to be comfortable sometimes. There were also serious electrical problems. My computer once turned off 5 times in one day while I trying to do work. Very frustrating.

Take a week or two off and do some renovations! There were two straight weeks in the winter when I would come in and just have to leave my jacket and sweatshirt on just because there was no heat. And the space heaters didn't work and would always overload the circuits.
