it was great and wonderful, they love there employees and respect them

1. if you get in an accident or injured they have a hospital they recommend to you and will go out of their way to help you.
2. they celebrate a lot of the holidays and they buy everyone lunch on Fridays.

1. some of the employees are disrespectful and like to start problems.
2. the majority of the workers are fresh out of jail.

When I first began at The Black Tux they were proud of the culture being created. The CEO, Andrew, was adamant about creating an environment where employees were first because if an employee was happy it would do well for their customers and the business. I couldn't have agreed more and was immediately intrigued by this.
|
The problem with the above is the people who appeared to truly care about the culture of The Black Tux began leaving one by one. Eventually the company has turned into like any other. That being metrics matter more than the health and well being of their employees. I know many who went to Talent & People(HR), with complaints about their team lead(s) and managers only to be told that nothing could be done until others came forward. Talent & People essentially turned a blind eye to bullying among many other toxic traits and behaviors.

TBT provides comprehensive info of products during training, to the point where it becomes muscle memory as you put it into practice taking appointments. It is a great way to get a feel of mens fashion and retail working with individuals with real-world experience in the field.

Work/Life balance is important. You will get a lot of correspondence on customer orders and updates. If you can't handle the influx of information constantly coming in, it will become extremely overwhelming for you.

The pay is about the only Pro.
|
Inconsistent hours, and I've seen employees ask for full time for more than a year and still not getting it. The systems we use at work, are way too complicated, we don't get payed enough for it. NO COMMISSION, I would be making so much more money if there was. The benefits we get aren't worth it.

Response to Covid; changed their cancelation policy at the very beginning of the pandemic to make it impossible for customers with weddings canceled due to Covid to get their money back. For most, they were the only vendor who took advantage of customers this way, as venues, caterers, etc. were much more generous, even with OUT policies in place (which TBT had but changed!)
