private:blueoptima https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1276374 Nov 2nd, 2020 12:00AM Open Open BlueOptima Customer Success Manager Phoenix, AZ Good Early Career Grower - The customer success team is filled with highly competent individuals who will push you to improve. - The learning opportunity to be early career within enterprise technology Customer Success is not one to overlook, several years here will set up a great long term career. - The product itself is interesting, if you have a passing understanding or interest in statistics no matter the background, you can understand it and be able to really help clients. - Great mentorship program, I got to learn from senior leadership outside of the department to take on a management position. - Feedback and data-centered culture means that you always know how well (or not) you're doing and are able to correct or explore new growth opportunities - Growth is not slowing down soon, if you can deal with the cons below, take this job because they are consistent in their growth and there aren't major competitors impeding it. - They are poorly handling Covid-19 response - this work can be done completely remotely; however, they are already expecting people back at the office in shifts where they then spend a lot of time in an open space room talking on phones with no masks. They are going with government opening policies and the Phoenix office has ignored the protocols with all members being present in an enclosed coworking space. - Enterprise technology management is not an easy field to be in. Clients are large and slow moving and when you only have a few accounts, if there are problems they become large quite quickly. - Members of senior leadership have a temper and are highly involved in the accounts so you will experience yelling or belittling at least once. - There is a lack of trust between sales and customer success, and that can extend into inter-department animosity at times 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 0.0 NO_OPINION 0.0 4.0 3.0 3.0 5.0 3.0 3.0 1276374 Open Go fully remote until the end of the crisis, this half in and half out while claiming to be data driven makes you seem more callous. Also spend the money to invest in good upper management. 0.0 [{"countHelpful": 0, "languageId": "eng", "userJobTitle": "Head of Talent", "__typename": "EmployerResponse", "originalLanguageId": null, "id": 2858932, "responseDateTime": "2020-11-16T08:37:23.383", "translationMethod": null, "response": "As ever, your feedback is much appreciated. Please let us attend to two of the points that you raise that we feel are misrepresented or unfairly portayed in your post. \n\nThe first point relates to your comments regarding BlueOptima's active management of the COVID-19 pandemic. BlueOptima pays careful attention to the case numbers in our locations as well as local regulations and have gone to full work-from-home settings where either of these considerations have required it. \n\nThe reason we have 'kept the lights on' in our offices is firstly to ensure that our well appointed offices which we have made considerable investments in making comfortable and safe for our employees are available for those who may not be fortunate enough to have suitable home working conditions. This alternative is of course only available to those who are not (or do not live with) high risk individuals and who can safely commute to our offices.\n\nWhere policy and case numbers have allowed it, we have enacted a half week home/office rota to allow our teams to benefit from office work while maintaining a safe distance from colleagues, and have multiple guidelines in place within the office space, including obligatory wearing of masks whenever not at desks.\n\nWhile some work can be effectively conducted from home, there are numerous types of high impact work we conduct at BlueOptima, which are better performed in person. Whether that be the discussion of highly complex and technical concepts, particularly where we are onboarding new people; or to work through the complex requirements of our clients. In these scenarios, we know our teams greatly benefit from the increased fidelity of conversations that can be conducted (while safely distanced) in person. Our teams prioritise their deep work for work-from-home days high-interaction collaboration work for office days.\n\nIt is worth reiterating the point that we have a clear policy of insisting that any person exposed to or exposing others to elevated risk should work from home on a full time basis and that we maintain an open door to discuss individual circumstances and concerns.\n\nThe second point relates to your use of the word \"belittling\". We are a business that lives and breathes the delivery of outstanding value to our clients. Senior leadership are directly involved with strategic accounts where our customer facing teams can benefit from their expertise and direction. As part of their role leadership must be able to make clear that an individual being routinely unable to give a clear or accurate account for the health of the clients that we serve is not consistent with our dedication to delivering value to those clients. Whilst these conversations can be intense and put pressure on the individual being held to account to uphold our standards, belittling is not the intention nor a fair turn of phase.", "responseOriginal": null, "countNotHelpful": 0}] REGULAR No No 1.0 Jan 10th, 2021 08:11PM Jan 10th, 2021 08:11PM BlueOptima

private:blueoptima https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1276374 Sep 9th, 2020 12:00AM Open Open BlueOptima Software Engineer Bangalore Inexperienced technical leadership Company is flexible in allowing WFH if you need to be at home for any reason. Management assigns projects but fails to provide support (e.g., allocating required infrastructure) for their engineers to accomplish goals. I had to literally beg them for a MONTH to create a new git repository. And engineers end up getting the blame when projects don't work out (of course they won't work if you don't even provide basic infrastructure) Some of the tasks had vague goals/benefits and you will end up doing them because you were told to do so, even when the benefits of the said tasks seem unclear to you. This is a pretty one dimensional java shop. People have the habit of writing even small scripts/utilities in Java and shun using simpler unix tools or scripting languages. Irony is that their main product employs a lot of unix utilities and yet they shirk using such tools for daily engineering tasks. Don't even get me started on that woeful dev server infrastructure. Around 40 people were sharing 4-5 dev servers for building code, running development servers, tests etc... Latency is a huge pain. Some of the coworkers were arrogant and lacked basic etiquette. Why the hell would they yell at me for helping them out with a bug fix? Also, the code reviews were a joke. It's like the reviewers get off on suggesting changes and the team lead has a mind of his own - he commits changes unannounced in others' PRs. Overall, it was a pretty poor experience for me. -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 NEUTRAL 0.0 NO_OPINION 11.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 1276374 Open 0.0 [{"countHelpful": 0, "languageId": "eng", "userJobTitle": "Head of Talent", "__typename": "EmployerResponse", "originalLanguageId": null, "id": 2813938, "responseDateTime": "2020-10-19T04:19:46.163", "translationMethod": null, "response": "Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We appreciate and value feedback from all current and former employees and we are sincerely sorry that you feel so negatively about Engineering at BlueOptima. \n\nAt BlueOptima we have purposefully chosen to work as small teams and ensure every team is responsible for delivery of their feature end to end, from Requirements to Production, to Support in Production. This approach has been purposefully adopted to ensure every engineer understand the value of feature they are working on and what is the problem BlueOptima as an application is trying to address in the industry. Your experience otherwise is very unfortunate and we want to engage with you to get direct feedback on this. Please contact CTO Salman Kagzi on LinkedIn or email to progress this.\n\nDevelopers tend to use what they are comfortable with to solve a problem they are working and we they have complete autonomy to choose the ideal technology to solve the problem. However, there is a difference between exploration project and production project, we do eventually use a consistent technology stack for our Production deployment and that is the way it should be and it is.\n\nWe at BlueOptima pride ourselves on the open culture that we have built and how even the leadership is reachable through their drop-in sessions they dedicate a considerable amount of time to. We respectfully, entirely disagree with the arrogance and etiquette claims and on the code review process.", "responseOriginal": null, "countNotHelpful": 0}] REGULAR No No 1.0 Jan 10th, 2021 08:11PM Jan 10th, 2021 08:11PM BlueOptima
