Exploitative Swiss management, but good learning
|

Worked in the investment team for a few years
- Can learn a lot as organisation growth is rapid and there are some high quality professionals at the lower levels.
- Efficient processes and systems.
- Good work life balance can be managed .
|
- Management only considers Swiss-Germans as human. Rest of the team treated as sub-human.
- Management micromanages costs to squeeze every cent out of the investment team only to reward themselves with heavy salaries and bonuses.
- Management doesnt care for employees. Common to see high quality employees leave citing poor treatment by supervisors / management.
- Instead of rewarding performing staff, management allows them to leave in disappointment. They are replaced with incompetent lateral hires who are given high salary and position. Invariably they leave (or forced to). Result: Huge staff turnover.
- Most people who stay back are either subservient or incompetent.
- Highly non-transparent decision making.

Decent job, flexible company, international flavor

Small company, one gets to know everyone, even board members. A lot of international traveling, good opportunities to network with financial institutions and DFI's. Great vacation policy, team is knowledgeable and helpful, good place to develop a finance career with a focus on developing countries.

Priorities are fast changing, political pressures in some areas of the world mean extra work, communication issues sometimes.
