Overall, I enjoyed my time there. Bonnier had its ups and downs like any other organization. The first half of my employment was wonderful, but after some of the supervisors had either retired or been let go, the culture greatly shifted for the worse. I would've eventually ended up leaving, but was laid off before I had the opportunity.

I worked in editorial for one of the leading Bonnier titles, and found Bonnier to be a small but feisty company packed with smart, passionate people who punch way above their weight. What they accomplish with the limited resources available to small publishers in this day and age is nothing short of amazing. Speaking more broadly, the company offers reasonable compensation, stresses life-work balance, and is very supportive of its employees. It also provided surprising transparency from upper management with regard to finances, and the fiscal challenges presented by Covid-19. I could go on and on, but bottom line: An excellent place to work, despite the Herculean challenges facing the company.

The company is under-capitalized, even for a publishing outfit in this day and age.
