Heavy work load, lack of management support, favoritism and absolutely NO room for growth. I worked at Boston IVF for over 3 years and never seen or heard of a promotion. Yearly employee evaluations consist of a maximum of a .2% raise. Both employees and patients are treated like a number.

The staff and doctors are nice to work with in the office. They care about the patients, and will do anything to help them get pregnant.

More organization for orienting new staff. My orientation consisted of sitting beside experienced nurses just watching them do all the work on the computer for 8 hours/day for 3-4 weeks. A person can only sit, not doing anything for so long until they go crazy!! It would be more beneficial if the new nurse was doing some of the work on the computer, while the experienced nurse sat beside them to show them what to do.
It would also be beneficial if they gave out case studies to the new nurse so that they can practice charting on the computer. My computer “class” consisted of being in a small room, with two other new nurses looking at a small monitor while the teacher showed us where things were located. I could barely see what she was doing since I was at the end of the desk, and she had to turn the monitor sideways so I could see.
