I met a few nice clients and had good conversations. Learned how to deal with toxic coworkers and a toxic workplace. Learned how to deal with an incompetent company.
|
Ive never been treated with such disrespect, lied to to my face, and had coworkers constantly talking trash about me despite the fact that my alteration work made their sales. Horrible individuals and terrible QC issues. Do not spend money here, do not work here please. Awful people. Verbal and mental abuse is tolersted by everyone by supervisors. The gap betwen corporate and the respect given to any other employee is laughable. They will cause your eviction and wont bat an eye.

I hope your company fails and people catch on to all the logistical issues you hold. People will see through the mirage at some point. Management can all go unalive.

Smoke and mirrors- Beware
|
|
Quarterly clothing package.
Built long lasting friendships from fellow store leaders.
|
I’ve never worked for a more misogynistic and toxic workplace. When you are making the numbers they make you feel like you’re on top of the world, but when you’re not, you will feel like your job will be taken from you at any moment.
Stressful and exhausting doesn’t even begin to tip the iceberg when working here.
They give promotions to those who “ look cool and stylish”, and leave other leaders behind who have worked so hard to get promoted. They want “yes” workers and if you aren’t that you WILL be fired. If you don’t drink the ‘kool-aid” you’re out!
I’ve district managers speak so badly about their employees behind their backs and be sweet as pie to their faces. Truly disgusting behavior for people who are running this business. You will constantly hear the director of retail drilling to you “ If you can’t stay on the bus you can leave.” “ … then maybe this just isn’t the place for you” when you try to suggest any sort of change. No time for them to develop you or try and make you be a better leader.
If you don’t want ANY self expression this is the place for you. They try to clone every single person to look the exact same. Down to the footwear or socks you should buy!? ( crazy right?)
They change the vision of the brand on the drop of a dime and expect you to turn your business around in that moment.
Boy club, boys club, boys club. Can’t express this enough. Cliques and talking down to women; never taking them serious or taking their suggestions.
Support is very limited… you might hear from your leader once a week but it’s a chat that you need to bring up and initiate and never any positive encouragement or suggestions of how to build your business. If you aren’t doing well, you will be blind sided and written up/ pushed out.
This company has gone downhill since Feb 23’ and it only seems to get worse as the days go by.
Leaving this place has been the best professional decision I’ve made. I no longer have stress rashes and sleepless nights.
Your first month will be all smoke and mirrors until you finally see how culty and clicky this company is. It’s actually pretty scary to see the direction Buck Mason is going in.

Extremely unprofessional and unorganized
|
|
-8 hour workday and paid lunch.
|
- upper management is very negative and complains often.
-the director of retail is extremely unprofessional and will threaten to resend an offer and terminate your employment before you start the role.
-You will receive no training or solutions to any of the company wide issues
-The company is not inclusive of LGBTQIA+ community. If you are not a heteronormative male they will exclude you and treat you as less than.
- Upper management will be upset with you if you chose to work only 40 hours. Despite no need for you to be at the store all day every day.
- They expect store managers to be top salespeople. There is no focus to develop your team in store or to give them goals and hold them accountable. Upper management expects you to single handily do everything while the staff hangs out.

- Focus on driving up price point and clientele. Repeat relationship sales vs clerking.
- Let each store manager run the store as they see fit if they are achieving numbers. Everyone is different. There isn’t a single path to success. No need to micromanage.

During my time at Buck Mason, I did not hear from nor get support from anybody in the Senior Management echelon. Maybe if they interacted more with their retail staff, there would be different feelings.

People Driven, Behavior Driven, High Expectations and Great Culture
|
|
Been here 3 years and plan to stick it out longer. The support by management and care they provide is incredible. They have high expectations which are always made very clear. When you fall short, you'll be told. When you reach the bar or go higher - you're recognized and appreciated. Not typical retail, so if that's what you want, this ain't it. If you're looking for a growth oriented company (both in opportunity, quality of product, and mindset) this is the place for you.
|
Isn't the highest paying, but is very rewarding. You will LEARN here. Plenty of opportunity for that pay to increase with tenure and as company grows in value.
