Cal Maritime is a small school and is very secluded. You get to know the employees and students very well. The students very career-driven and focused on their goals. The school attracts students from all walks of life and creates and intersting community of traditional and non-traditional students. With the campus being so small the politics are very apparent. The administration is disconnected from the rest of the campus. There have been votes of no confidence by students and staff for the current president. If you are looking for a pseudo-military school then Cal Maritime is the right place for you. Student Affairs is not seen as essential on the campus until the administration needs people to do the work they do not want to do. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 0.0 2.0 3.0 1.0 2.0 4.0 2.0 129670 Open Putting a lottle more stock into student mental health and listening to the research that has been completed by other universities will assist in growing the institution. We are not Kingspoint, so lets stop trying to be and work on making the students who go to the other 5 Maritime Academies wish they were us. Not because we are the best military like school, but because we graduate cadets who love their school, who feel like their school cares about them individually, and by sending well rounded, well studied, and well-mannered personnel out into their chose fields.
