Easy Job But Too Much Drama

Good schedule if you're trying to work and go to school at the same time.
|
Supervisors have favorites and they will show it by choosing them for special training over others that are more qualified. Other departments are predators, like literally will look at women behind and not hide it. To make it worse, the higher ups made it a rule that hosts were not allowed to wear their jacket that is assigned uniform around their waist when not worn, why? just because they said so. Like really they did not provide an answer. Administers are extremely rude to hosts and will treat you like you're nothing. Unless you're a donor then they're on their best behavior. So much drama with staff, either you're polite and you'll get hit on or you're serious because you want to be professional and you'll be labeled as a rude person Then there's who's sleeping with who and administers giving positions to people who are not even educationally qualified over those who are, only because they're "good friends". A complete joke.

Check on your supervisors especially during events because they will put extra pressure on staff while letting others slack off only because they're "friends" and it is completely unprofessional.

Unorganized Guest Service Management and Unprofessional Guest Services Environment.

Volunteer program very worth it. If your into marine biology , being a Veterinarian, or an animal keeper definitely a good place to get your foot into the door. Another note , the education department is another good way for you to get a head start on your education career.

1. No benefits unless your one of the higher ups only sick time and vacation hours. 2. GS Management doesn't let you expand your horizons there's always a catch. 3. You will notice favoritism the more you work there between some supervisors and managers.
4. Drama between staff in Guest services and not a very professional environment. Rumors escalate quickly. Some staff are also dating superiors when they are not supposed to.
5. Training not taken seriously. When it comes to employees asking for help against an employee who's either is sexually harassing people, racist, and making it a hostile environment they fail to take necessary measures.

Management are free to change schedule at will, many times "forgetting" if you marked a day off. Lack of opportunities for growth or promotions. Low wages. Favoritism prevails.
