Poor Leadership

Competitive Salary, Bonuses & Benefits package

The leadership within this organization has lead to very poor morale. The atmosphere lacks creativity. New ideas are not welcomed. Higher levels of management have been known to take credit for work that was not theirs. Being recognized for a job well done can be difficult as very little direction or feedback is given on performance.

redundant, unintelligent and meaningless job functions from top to bottom
Decent salaries derived from unnecessary mandated fees from consumers hard earned money. Its a not for profit recycling company that should easily be rolled up into another bigger sector with the industry. If you are looking for a simple, government-like, slow and shallow brain draining simplistic job, this is the place for you.
I would describe this organization like an entire high school class that shouldn't of graduated its class. The CEO, akin to the principle of a high school, seeks constant control and emits a strong radiance of insecurity awaiting his long desired retirement package. The toxicity of this old-school run atmosphere is as exciting as the corporate mission itself - stale, rundown, acidic and unappealing. The level of ass-kissing by this flat organization is rampant. The ongoing data manipulation for the purposes of persuading provincial governments to give the green light the continuance of this program is the true unwritten company mission.

Its time to step aside, and let fresh new minds that can truly run the organization more efficiently. Reduce employee head count (you don't need 2 assistants for a mere $12 million national revenue.) Reduce the fees at consumer level because too much money is sitting in the bank investing in real estate. Let go of the egos and focus on the mission at hand, you haven't earned your salary.

Not worth it
Great pay, excellent benefits, cutting edge IT
DRAMA. From upper management gossiping about everyone (past and current employees), throwing epic fist shaking, foot stomping tantrums and doing twice daily "bed checks", to disclosing confidential HR details to unrelated employees, to the verbally abusive, aggressive employee with short term memory issues... the great pay isn't worth the hassle of daily interactions in this tiny office. People have left here without jobs lined up just to escape the toxicity and abuse.

Great non-profit with rich benefits package. Well trained and developed staff. A wonderful small company where you are constantly growing and encouraged to be your best self, even outside of work.

Petty leadership
Great health benefits for such a small organization and some wonderful and smart people work there. Management wants to foster a family environment and will accommodate employees on a case-by-case basis to help them through life hardships.
I just said above that management wants to foster a family environment, which makes it a prime environment for favoritism. It takes very little to identify the leadership "pets." Management will bend the rules and make exceptions to accommodate their favorite pets. In return, they will expect those people to say "how high" every time they ask them to jump.
BEWARE of the CEO. HE IS SUPER PETTY. The minute he doesn't get his ways, he will make sure you don't feel like part of the family anymore. The CEO's direct reports don't really have independence to make decisions regarding their own departments, as a result, if you don't work directly under him and he doesn't like you that much, you can kiss bye bye to a promotion. If you manage to get a promotion without being close to him, you get a minimal raise and they will not budge if you try to negotiate to get your worth. So, if you have ambitions, do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY
Another problem with this place is the lack of flexibility for telecommuting. I don't know why, but despite their pseudo-progressive mentality, management is very reluctant to people telecommuting unless there is a weather-related exception. As a result, if you have to stay home to care for your child, you will feel scrutinized and additional stress for not being in the office.
Finally, although the health benefits are better than most other places, it takes 90 days to be eligible and the time off allocated is just standard, but management makes it seem as if they have the best benefit package in the world.

If you want to hire world-class talent, you need to be ready to offer upward mobility. STOP taking things personally. The pettiness level is just immature.

Caring and passionate colleagues, excellent benefits, dynamic atmosphere. You're really part of a family, working to improve the environment. Management is very transparent.
Small organization, so there isn't the usual upward advancement possible as with larger companies. One role very often takes on multiple "hats".
