I've met countless inspiring students during my time at Cambly. You can choose to tutor as little or as often as you like, and you make your own schedule. If they increased the hourly tutor pay, I would open my schedule slots.

Enjoyable classes, lousy pay
|
I love teaching on Camble. I make my own hours, I choose my students, I teach from their material or simply have interesting conversations with English Learners around the world. However, the pay is ridiculously low - approximately $10/hr!

Horrible management
|
The new management that took over treats everyone horribly as if they’ve just started the job, regardless if how many years you’ve worked there. They wouldn’t increase salaries and they cut budget on us in terms of benefits

Meeting so many people from different cultures! I've learned a lot from them.
What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Having to cancel a class last minute because you could lose priority hours.
What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Comfortable, easy, stress free and exciting. I love that I can set my own schedule. The company itself has great customer service and they respond very quickly to questions and concerns.
What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Sitting at home in comfort teaching some pretty amazing people.

Very flexible schedule, very poor pay
|
The main advantage of Cambly is it is very flexible in it's scheduling. You can work as much or as little as you want. HOWEVER you get paid per minute not by the hour. It is advertised they pay $10.20 and hour. You may only work with a student for 45 minutes in an hour, so you only get paid for those 45 minutes. The last 15 minutes go unpaid unless you work with another student directly for those final 15 minutes. Any time outside of a direct video lesson with a student is unpaid, scheduling lessons, messaging students through the website chat feature, is all unpaid time.

Paid badly but good work
|
Enjoyed working for Cambly very much. Moved back to the UK and sadly now it's less than minimum wage. Courseware could be better but you can teach you own thing
If you wish.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Have been with the company for over 3 years. You are in control of your work schedule. Many bonuses offered. Good working materials. Lots of students in the system. Hourly pay and no show rate is very low.
What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Days when there are many no shows or technical issues....but this is random
What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Work environment is what you make it. 99 percent of students are friendly and there to learn.
What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Amazing. I enjoy working on the platform very much.

It's good for extra money and extremely flexible, but it can get tiring for little pay. Nice when you get regulars you get on with then it doesn't feel like work!
