Decent place to work for starting job or mid career job

Agency is small and organized overall. The employees are nice and do good quality work. The agency has a positive reputation for its service provision. CFCS has been looking to make improvements and always seeks to advance their expertise and quality. There had been limited communication between management/admin and direct service workers. Change and improvements happened slowly and the staff culture is rather isolated. It's a good place to work if you want a relatively calm, predictable job with good benefits outside of salary.

This organization is amazing and been around for over 147 years. They continue to grow and work with the changes in families, children and those who need help and don't know where to turn. Each team works well together and accomplish great things. I am proud to be a part of CFCS and where they are and where they are heading. The benefits help compensate for the salary and most companies do not have the benefits they offer. You always want to love what you do or where you work. CFCS is a place to be proud of .

I've worked in a few different places, in a few different kinds of jobs, and there's no denying that there will always be some things you like, and some you don't. Sometimes if you focus too much on the things that annoy you, you can lose sight of how great your job really is. It happens to all of us at one time or another... but I've never worked in a place where I felt more supported in terms of a work/life balance than at CFCS. I really appreciate that my schedule can be adjusted if I need to come in late or leave early, and that might not seem like a big deal but trust me it is. If I have to take my sick kid to the doctor, they understand. What I see when I look at management is other people who have issues in their lives just like I do.

This is one of the good ones.

The work is challenging but management is supportive and helpful, and the paid time off policies are generous. You can earn CEUs through seminars and workshops that the agency pays for, and monthly staff meetings include help for your personal life too, like retirement planning and personal wellness. The agency has a good reputation and staff are proud of that. No job is perfect, but the people who work there know that the programs they are in and the jobs they do are helping improve people's lives. Management is big on making sure staff knows how much their work is appreciated which feels especially good after a tough day.

Great mission, disappointing environment
|
While the mission of the agency is wonderful, the feeling of inclusion and belonging within the agency is often overlooked with departments segregated. The office culture is not inviting or warm and often rude remarks or comments are made from the CFO. If you are looking to be part of a team that is welcoming and warm this may not be the right fit for you unless you work in one specific department where the director is very kind and involved. There are employees that have been with the agency a very long time and they resist change and are often times unkind to some individuals. The few individuals that are looking to change things typically leave very quickly as the resources to initiate change are extremely limited. Leadership should take more active steps to limit staff that has been with the agency for a long time to ultimately make decisions instead of the Executive Director.

The salary is very low but the management and work culture is great. Everyone is very friendly and helpful, I worked at Family Support and Stabilization and the team is great, the Director is very professional, supportive and she always tries to make your job easier through care and guidance.

Loads of driving in different directions will cost you time and put miles on your car. There's also a lot of paperwork. Salaried job, so extra hours worked to meet paperwork demands not compensated.

Only job I regret ever working at!

At first it seems like such a good place to work & you think you are doing something great helping teenagers become adults, the teenagers were great to work with the management Is not good the employees Are worse I have NEVER worked somewhere where they gossip & lie so much! And if u intend to actually DO YOUR JOB adorn work here! They don’t want people who are serious about the work they want people who will just come for a pay check if you do the right thing they will find ways to pick with you. 7 people quit in a month when I was there it’s VERY disorganized & stressful! They put tons of hours and responsibility on you for little pay ! They don’t care about their employees or the girls. And I’m not a mad employee this is the truth and you will definitely see it if you work here!
