Ultimately, I became so passionate about working with clients. I'm so grateful that I was able to enter the legal field without any prior experience. I loved every single one of my coworkers (even the ones that gave me the side eye). I appreciated the family like environment and the constant training that we had. This is a great place to learn and to grow, however that's all it is. I was extremely overworked and underpaid here. Even if I had gotten a typical salary for a legal assistant, it would still be way way too low. I did intakes, screenings, fingerprinting, scanning, research, contacting law enforcement, filing, filling out applications, translating, answering calls, did declarations with clients, etc. None of this sounds too terrible but when they threw 60 cases at us that needed different things, it became a lot. I wasn't just doing what I signed up to do which was file U-VISAs. I was filing U-VISAs, U-AOS cases, work permit applications, and helping my supervisor with whatever she needed. I felt so inadequate when I wasn't hired as a regular employee. I soon found out that although I wasn't good enough at CARECEN, I was at other workplaces. Nothing I do now will compare to the work I had at CARECEN. My job now only requires a fraction of what I did at CARECEN. I'm so grateful for the experience and it was definitely my favorite place to work at thus far. They just overwork and underpay their employees and they know it. CARECEN has a high turnover rate and most people work there for experience, not for long term employment. Great culture Too much work and too little pay 0.0 0.0 1.0 1.0 5.0 1.0 1.0 5.0 Jan 19th, 2021 11:52AM Mar 19th, 2021 07:58PM CARECENSF

But the pay and benefits are too low. 0.0 0.0 4.0 4.0 4.0 4.0 2.0 4.0 Jan 19th, 2021 11:52AM Mar 20th, 2021 04:16PM CARECENSF
