Now that I am at a large company I realize how supportive the smaller company environment was as I rarely see my boss now. You are able to learn to be entrepreneurial and manage your job duties with accountability. Constant opportunity to participate in new projects and networking events. Management cares about employees career growth and assists in goal setting quarterly. Attended Second City training, traveled to trade shows, attended a sailing team-building workshop, was able to hire and manage an intern, given a laptop when I left. Attended sales training summit. Executive team has track record of successfully building multiple companies and as still a small staff at headquarters, all employees benefit from being around A-players. Weekly team meetings where allowed to give your feedback no matter what your position is with the company. Caring company culture - I was introduced to 2 charity advisory boards to join by my boss. Fun office suite environment with other companies and sun deck on the river. Feels good to be working in an industry that is helping people find senior care and get jobs and training in caregiving. | High expectations. Open book management which means everyone knows how you are performing and sometimes there is a very quick turnaround expected for learning new tasks. Must learn how to manage time and communicate well. There are several long-term employees that have grown previous start-up companies together and must prove yourself. Fast-growth company which sometimes means longer days and new job duties.
