Small Company, lots of potential, and re-focused direction

+ The team that I worked on was very enthusiastic about their job and helping everyone out to finish the release
+ Management was supportive of new ideas, and their door was "always open" to express my opinion
+ Family atmosphere with co-workers remaining friends even after you leave
|
+ Smaller teams meant longer hours at times, but overall the distribution of hours evened out. Definitely a start-up Company.
+ Handling multiple projects/tasks at once

Because we are a small company, everyone works together very closely. My coworkers are some of my best friends. This creates great collaboration and team efforts whether its a sales deal or new product feature.
The management team is very "open door policy" and our CEO is with us on the front lines. You wear a lot of hats and don't always necessarily do "what's in your job description" but in turn, learn so much about all aspects of the company. It's a great place to develop your skills and learn a ton of new ones. I've been here 1.5 years and have already been promoted as well as seen at least 3 of my other colleagues that have been here the same amount of time or less get promoted.
We are a very client focused company and work closely with the communities that use Caremerge. If you are passionate about healthcare technology and senior living, this is a very rewarding career.
Work from home opportunities and flexible with vacation! Our company cares about the people first and we truly are a family.

Internal team procedures and protocol could be streamlined. We have gaps of information and miscommunication sometimes on how things should be executed and documented.
Not everyone works out of the Chicago office so sometimes there are delays and gaps in communication.
The office is cold - bring a sweater!

Buyer Beware - Bait and Switch

The product team is sharp and resourceful - but overworked.
The Office Manager puts an immense amount of effort into office culture, health and trends.
|
Is this company still in business? I ask because HR doesn't answer emails or send checks that were supposed to be received.
There are some clear organizational tensions going on in senior management. There is lack of direct of clear direction or vision as a company.
As a whole, senior leadership does not understand capacity or length projects take.

Very Promising Startup

Caremerge is by far the best company I have worked for (and I have worked at a few healthcare tech companies). It has this amazing culture of balancing work with play, of being inclusive of people and being led by a new CEO who truly cares about the people. The work is innovative and making difference in peoples life. The new machine learning / AI tools can be a game changer. It really is a great group of smart, innovative and caring people. It is not perfect normal bumps and warts, but you get the sense that management is trying to improve and grow the company.

- Sales leadership has not been it's strength.
- Health benefits can do better.
- Customers Retention is very high (that's good) but at a price of a very customer focused organization that can be costly to business and hinder scale.

Tipping point for the company

Lots of great people and an interesting industry with a lot of potential.

Very uncertain future and everyone is worried about where the company will be in the next year. Sales are dismal and as long as the current executive team is in place there isn't much confidence things will get better. It seems like a ton of people were hired and now the company can't support the team it built because it isn't generating any revenue

They've hired some really amazing people recently who are helping grow and elevate the company. It feels exciting to be here right now- your work matters and is recognized.
The people are really great- everyone works hard and people are actually friends here.

Lots of transition and management changes have been happening- which, personally, I don't find to be a con. But if you aren't ready to work hard and step up and grow with the company, Caremerge/start-ups in general aren't for you.
