The feeling of being able to assist those with moderate to severe health conditions with accessing community resources to improve their quality of life. Carestar is a fantastic company to work for. A community of supportive coworkers and understanding management is the best work environment to be in. You will constantly be learning and growing no matter the position you hold. Lots of Mobil working at times and travel. The amount of travel could be an issue if you are not used to it. I was hired into this company as a Quality Improvement Supervisor to work remotely from home. I was working as a QA nurse for a home care company at the time, and was looking for a remote position. I was told that QI supervisors occasionally are asked to do assessments in the field for overflow purposes, however, when i started, the Supervisors were doing at least 2 a week, and sometimes 3, driving for hours at a time. It eventually reduced to 1 assessment a week. Case managers are not held responsible for timely documentation, sometimes entering narratives in a clients chart 3 months after it was done. Training is a joke. I came from home care and had no idea of all of the programs available to people, and after 9 months there, i still don't. Very disorganized. QI supervisors are paid very low on the scale for registered nurses, and manage several after hours call takers. You work all day from 830 to 5 pm and then are expected to manage people from your computer who work 5 pm to 8 am.
