I worked for the Blackpool branch and have worked all over the fylde coast, community and in the assisted living schemes they had. I loved it! I work in the NHS now and equally love my job but I miss Carewatch massively! Lovely company to work for.

job is great. carers are friendly. poor office staff
|
avoid this company. very high turnover in staff including the office team. there is no support from office. they only care about money. they dont care about the carers. they either pile the work on you and expect you to do a 12 hour shift without a break or they give you one call here and there.

Lovely clients, poor management.
|
The clients and providing care are the good aspects for people who love this sort of job.
However, management lacks organisation and accountability. Responsiveness to carers needs and questions is spotty at best.
As carers we feel underappreciated and taken for granted often, frequently given excessively heavy workloads and having to ask for time off feels like you're asking for the world.
I love what I do day to day (though the workload could be less crushing) but the lack of good management demotivates staff.

Enjoyed working within the company, good staff team and moral, carers were very loyal and helpful to ensure clients needs were met. Well managed with the odd few causing problems but these were dealt with.

Management/office staff needs to be re-thought.
|
Not very considerate,really don't value there carers at all! Our branch I was under was ran by a child that ran it into the ground,they aren't considerate towards service users if they have no staff to cover .. just tell you to fit them in when you can regardless to some clients being diabetic and needing set meal times,overall absolute disgrace which was my reason for leaving. You can't treat vulnerable people that way. Yyocan't reach

Early starts, unorganised routing of day work schedule (a lot of back and forth), working more hours than paid for, fuel money not sufficient to cover mileage.
As employees, we got texts from the office saying how we cannot leave a call early and cannot be late to the next. There wasn't enough time given between calls, 5 minutes (if lucky) to drive 10 miles. No travel time would be given if they needed an extra call put onto rota.
Breaks in-between shift, sometimes hours on end, not being paid for. Whereas other days there was no opportunity for a break, 7 am to 10:30 pm with an hour break.
Unsupportive management - Emergency calls regarding clients ignored by management multiple times, even when it was a life or death situation.
On many occasions they made my colleagues work when they were too ill, meaning that the office staff didn't have to come out to cover calls.
PPE had to be collected from the Norwich office meaning additional travel time and regular trips. Uniforms were second hand (which I didn't mind) but they were tatty with not many sizes, trousers were not supplied and near the end of my employment, they ran out of aprons. Due to this inconvenience and travel, I sometimes had to take this into my own hands and purchase my own PPE.
After Covid-19 it was advised we wash our uniform every day yet often there wasn't enough time when we'd finish late and start early. When going to the office to collect more tabards they only had size 22.
Overall, this job took over my life. There was no time left for family or friends and it impacted my health, especially lack of sleep.
The carers in my area that I worked with were amazing, caring and brilliant. Unfortunately, they're overworked and underappreciated for how hard they work in making peoples lives better.

I have experienced every challenge that comes with working in the care sector but have always been supported by the team.

the carers were lovely and some were over worked. Very demanding job and not very well paid. If your looking for a job with job satisfaction this is probably not the best place.

Worst experience of the care industry I have had to endur. Office staff bullied staff into covering shifts. Would never pay you right and would come to your house for you to cover work. I would never work for these idiots again.
