When you walk into work, you start off by assessing what the priorities of the day are. Once you've determined whats important and what can wait, you can expect that work will be high-paced from 10am-1pm. As soon as daily orders go out for the community that we service, lunch time hits and you have some time to unwind before you go back to a relaxed work environment, working on the tasks at hand.
The workplace culture is superb. Great coffee and weekly snacks are delivered every Monday. We have potlucks whenever we please, and really, the only dress code requirement is displaying your badge.
The most enjoyable part of the workplace is of course, the people I work with on a daily basis. We are all pretty much a 15 person family who care about each others lives and every so often, go out and grab dinner. There really are outgoing personalities at the pharmacy which really brightens up the place.
Other than having a helicopter to cut down on my commute, there are really no complaints that I have working at CareZone (and the benefits are amazing.)

The Pharmacist In Charge Needs A Lot Of Training
|
My first day there was a disaster,The Pharmacist In Charge wasn't even at work the day I came. A pharmacist there said to herself, why would she take off today and you were coming. Know one knew what I was supposed to be doing so she had to call The Pharmacist In Charge in order to find out.
During the interview I told her that I wasn't filling prescriptions currently, but was doing data entry only.. The first week know one was assigned to me for training, I was expected to just know how this very different pharmacy was ran.
I had to constantly ask questions from everyone around me. When you asked questions some people were more irritated than helpful, I made some medication errors that apparently went out because some of the pharmacist play around, rather than focus on work.
The Pharmacist In Charge avoids speaking to you like you're psychic and know what to do around her pharmacy. When I put something in the wrong place, it was always someone saying oh I should've told you that. Then they'd laugh, I was like wow what type of place is this.
The Pharmacist In Charge never took me in the office and had a one on one talk with me about any of my mistakes, before getting rid of me after only 2 and a half weeks of being there. She knew I left my job to go work there and she still let me go just like that,
This is a cut throat place, it was people there for 2 years and i'd ask questions and they'd say i don't know. They hire you through a temp agency and make it a 6 month contract. The last day of work I didn't know from The Pharmacist In Charge, the temp agency just called me and said she decided to let you go. I still have the company badge that's how unprofessional The Pharmacist In Charge is.
I will NEVER leave a guaranteed job for a contract one ever in my life. This was a bad lesson.

I worked at CareZone for over 3 years. During that time I had 4 or 5 different managers and held two different positions. The work was stressful and there was a high workload. There was very little to no training for what I did, it was like, ok now you sit next to this person and watch what they do for 2 days then you're thrown into it. No advancement opportunities. Admittedly, the health insurance benefits were very good. HR department didn't know what they were doing. Communication between teams was very poor. We were often assured our jobs were solid, but then there were several rounds of layoffs which scared everyone. I don't like to go in to work every day wondering if that will be my last. In short, this company does not have a future.
