Entrepreneurial firm
- You can make your own path here -- your career trajectory is entirely based on how hard you work and the results you produce.
- Consultants are almost immediately client facing and have real project and work stream responsibility. As a result, 1 year here is equivalent to ~1.5 years at most other firms.
- The firm as a whole is relatively flat -- good ideas and good performance are what matter, not your title or how many years you've been here.
Traditional small firm issues -- projects are staffed lean so you find yourself being resource constrained quite often. Consultants are also asked to take on firm initiatives (internal work, BD, supporting conferences, etc.) on top of traditional consulting work. This can add stress but drives performance and learning.

Radical transparency and information sharing with the whole firm is only a good thing -- Carlisle has done a better job of this in recent years but would benefit from being even more transparent.

A great place to grow
* Work is fast-paced and you're expected to grow quickly.
* A great group of kind, smart, and ambitious co-workers.
* An excellent opportunity for data scientists/technical staff to get a more holistic view of how businesses function.
* You get client exposure right at the start of your tenure at Carlisle.
* New advancements in automotive technology (self-driving cars, electric cars) are a cause of excitement in the industry.
* Very small team of data science related roles. It can feel alienating at times.
* Narrow industry focus on automotive after-sales.
* A lot of technical debt in the aftersales industry. This can cause lots of obstacles during data-intensive projects.

Probably okay if you're a consultant

Good benefits and somewhat flexible hours.

The branch at which I worked was closed with absolutely no warning. I would be weary of any attempts the company may make to branch out beyond consulting.

If you're planning to close an office, at least have the decency to warn your employees. A two weeks notice would be expected from an employee planning to leave; the same should apply to management in the process of closing an office.

Good people and a lot of opportunities to grow
Carlisle is a great place to start your career. You really get great exposures to senior level people, both inside and outside of the firm, very quickly. Overall, if you can thrive here without a need for much structure (support), you will do well.
Plus, Associates/Senior Associates get the opportunity to travel but don't have to be road warriors, which is really nice because it allows you to have a life. The working hours are also flexible. If you have an appointment / dinner plan, you can just leave and sign back on later. As long as you get your work done on time (and good quality!), no one cares when (even where) you work. Also, no dress code! Seriously, people, including partners, show up to work in shorts, t-shirts, and sandals. Work-life balance here is very very good by consulting standard.
The benefits here are also stellar. Best healthcare plan in the entire New England area at almost no cost to you. The company even pays for all your deductibles!
The firm has an explicit focus -> automotive aftersales industry. Most of the work, frankly, are a bit repetitive and more operations/implementation focused than strategy focused. The firm is growing quickly. Most of the growth seems to come from doing similar work for the new clients rather than going into new fields (most consulting firms probably grow this way).
If your goal is to go to a business school in a few years after undergrad, Carlisle will give you a great resume and the firm will be very supportive to help you get there. Pretty good track record here.
However, if you do are not sure b-school is what you want (e.g. want to do strategy in-house) or dont want to stay in automotive aftersales), your options are fairly limited.
The firm recently is experiencing some challenges in retaining talents as a few mid-level managers are leaving and a lot of people are not super happy.

Lots of opportunity for growth
The firm rewards hard workers who can dedicate themselves to the work and are willing to grow in their roles. As a whole, the firm is growing rapidly and junior staff are given client facing responsibilities at a very early stage. If you dedicate yourself to always strive for the "next level", the firm will reward you
Better communication and training, but this will come as the firm continues to grow

Not your traditional consulting company
Solid leadership that cares about and invests in the personal development of its employees in a way that's not possible at a larger consulting company. If you're interested in Bschool. Carlisle will support you in every way, and many have gone to excellent schools.
There's not much week to week traveling, which can be a pro or con depending on what you're looking for.
Projects are limited to the automotive industry, and can become repetitive at a certain point.
Small size of company means very little support for formal training for new associates.
While week to week traveling is limited, younger employees at the senior associate or manager level are sometimes asked to relocate to a new city for a few month up to a year to be closer to clients for longer engagements.

Excellent Firm that Cares About Its People and Provides Great Development Ops
The Chairman and partners really care about the development of the younger staff and will go above and beyond for employees that demonstrate hard work and dedication; High amount of responsibility and client interaction from the start; can get promoted very quickly if you work for it; mostly interesting projects with readily visible client impact; even though firm is focused on the motor vehicle aftersales industry, project variety is good and enables consultants to develop skills/knowledge that is applicable to many industries; decent amount of control over travel and overall great work-life balance
Small, lean firm, so a lack of formal training and structure means you need to find your own way - this can be a challenge when staffed on a project with an unsupportive manager/partner. Brand recognition not strong outside of the specific industry, but the responsibility and client interaction you will receive makes up for it. People at the firm are great, but due to the Concord location, dispersed partners, and consultant travel, office culture is somewhat lacking.

Be proactive in identifying situations in which younger staff are struggling, as one bad project experience can influence perceptions of the firm. Look for more opportunities to bring employees in the office together.
