- Other junior staff members

- Massive salary discrepancy between the senior staff and junior staff.
- No opportunities for promotion or growth.
- Some senior staffers are stuck up with massive egos.
- There is no hunger within the entire organization. It's a place for folks pre-retirement to come in, make a lot of money, save up for their retirement, and leave. If you are a young person interested in doing policy or international relations, this place is not for you.

The people working at the Carnegie Endowment, both the senior people and the younger staff, are the best in the business. And they bring a broad diversity of perspectives to the critical questions they are working on.
You have the chance to work with people at all six Carnegie centers. The contacts you'll make (both inside and outside the organization) are invaluable, especially for younger people at the start of their career path.

The IT system needs improvement. But, the coronavirus and the need to have everyone work from home has accelerated the use of online collaboration tools and videoconferencing. More importantly, the brand-new CIO is awesome!

Demoralizing environment for young professionals

Other junior staff at Carnegie were fantastic, intelligent, and progressive people.
|
This place is a toxic work environment for many junior and administrative/non-research employees. Non-scholars are treated like garbage frequently (in some programs more than others) and the senior staff and scholars are often very set in their ways and unwilling to create a more hospitable work environment. Also heard rumors of other staff members being treated in very abusive ways and even forced out of thew organization.

The scholars are nice, its great networking, you learn a lot. Fridays off in the summer. A month of paid vacation. It's a fun job.
