Friendly co-workers, benefits were amazing and the personal/vacation time you receive off the bat can’t compare to anywhere else. You really get to know the people working in your department and really do build that “family” atmosphere. Holidays were always fun. It can be hard work, but it’s rewarding work. Support staff was amazing (hr, doc. Control, facilities) and was always prompt with whatever you needed.

Not a lot of communication between the departments and there was a tendency for micromanagement. Middle managers continually gossiped about each other and brought that negativity back to their departments. The owners were out of touch with the employees and didn’t bother to get to know anyone. The founder of the company was very nice, however. There was also no room for growth and it was basically the blind leading the blind when it came to training new employees. There was no formal training to be had.

The people who work there have been there for a very long time and know what they’re doing. Let them do their jobs and give them the freedom to make decisions without having to “approve” everything. Get to know your employees better.

knowable co-workers, average pay, good benefits, good vacation / time off (very seldom will they NOT approve vacation requests), helpful support staff (HR, IT, Facility Maintenance). Set hours. nice break room.

lots of micro managing, mid level managers not very approachable nor very friendly, lots of the "good old boy" mentality, plan on waiting a long time to get promoted. sales/orders dependent on fickle government contracts and regulations. never received a raise in over 2 1/2 years (not even a cost of living adjustment), little individual employee recognition for work done.
