Feels like everybody tried to hide being unproductive

I thought this company was extraordinarily unfair, but you can decide for yourself.
I started as a full time, permanent audit associate in January and immediately we we're slammed. I was happy to help; I'm quite proud of my work ethic and wanted to contribute. But, after 3 weeks we hit an initial deadline and as far as I could tell our workflow was at a standstill. Quickly, my job became uncomfortable task of asking all the managers and seniors for work on a daily basis and getting a few summary memos to write and maybe some sampling - about 8 hours’ worth of work per week which was the consensus among the other associates. I discussed this with management often, but I don't think they needed me at all except to get through that initial deadline.
So, Covid hit and everybody gets sent home. I get a message from a senior I spent the last week working with asking me to bill to a different engagement because we reached our limit on the first one, which made me wonder if my 40 hours were even budgeted into these engagements. Regardless, I'm put on another engagement and still asking for work like a day laborer getting what took about 2 hours per day. After a week and a half, I'm conscientious about the engagement going over budget, so I ask my senior how I should fill out my timecard and he says put what you worked so I did. I put 2 hours per day. The next morning I was called into the office and fired on the spot over Teams for having improperly filled out a timecard, that wasn't even due yet, two weeks into Covid.

Nice new office, work from home, and if you're management you might get paid handsomely

Small Financial Consulting Company

For the most part a small consulting company specializing on Financial Consulting and Assurances services for multiple federal agencies. Engagement I took part of were fairly normal. My only complaint is that the management team felt like a small clique, if you were not favored by management leadership progress within the company was almost impossible.

They let me go after they saying they couldn't find work. I think they shouldn't send you to clines who are known for trouble. I left my job to only get fired aND they didn't stand up to the clisn't at all. DO NOT WORK HERE!!!!
