private:catalogs.com https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=713222 Jun 18th, 2019 12:00AM Open Open Catalogs.com Anonymous Employee United States USA Change is Great! The new ownership of Catalogs.com in January 2019, has been a great thing. There have been a lot of changes taking place as far as structure, training, and software upgrades. Working for this company everyday is a pleasure. My colleagues are always welcoming and great to be around. I am really liking the direction we are headed in. With growth, there are growing pains. There are still some underlining habits and work traits left behind from the previous owners. This can be difficult when moving forward in a new direction. It takes an open mind, letting go of the past concepts and control.. and stepping into the idea of a better innovative company. Once these things are disposed of, there's no where to go but UP! 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 0.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 3.0 713222 Open Continue to lead the way through positivity. As new people join the team, allow them to bring their knowledge and talent, while learning the Catalogs.com way and this can keep being a wonderful company for many years to come. 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 2.0 Jan 13th, 2021 08:08PM Jan 13th, 2021 08:08PM Catalogs.com
private:catalogs.com https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=713222 Jun 18th, 2019 12:00AM Open Open Catalogs.com Art Director/Project Manager Fort Lauderdale, FL Excellent changes with new ownership! I have worked for Catalogs.com for over 1 year and have experienced much change during my time with the company. After new ownership took over in January of 2019, there were tremendous improvements inside the company. The benefits package now reflects a modern and positive environment, including 401K, Health and Dental insurance and vacation and personal time off. The overall working environment has improved also. With the ability to work remotely it has become a joy to work for Catalogs.com. As a .com company, this makes perfect since and allows the freedom and flexibility to work when and where you desire or when deadlines demand. Weekly production meetings are conducted via video conference and the entire team remain in contact through different forms of online communication. This is an entirely different company than the organization that I joined originally over a year ago. I highly recommend anyone to come on-board as a new hire. It’s a wonderful, positive working environment now and plenty of room for advancement and growth within your profession. As this new company continues to grow and advance, of course there is always room for improvement. Training is somewhat sketchy at times and in the past under the old management, you were expected to dive in headfirst and it was sink or swim. However, that has changed! Now you are asked to participate and be an integral part of new development and new working procedures. That is the only con I can think of at this time. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 0.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 713222 Open My only advice for management , is to keep doing what you're doing! Really cool tech and solid plans for even more upgrades. Since the company's sale in Jan 2019, it's like a brand new company. The changes have been incredibly good. Must be a self-starter to work from home. private:catalogs.com https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=713222 Jun 7th, 2018 12:00AM Open Open Catalogs.com United States USA Very Happy The Dynalog technology platform is really fun to sell. The people that I demo are always impressed and think its pretty cool. While I mainly focus on the automotive and real estate areas, I like having the ability to sell into many different markets as well. Management is always willing to jump on calls and help me out (and they never take $$ out of my pocket for helping). There is no doubt that you have to work really hard and put in some long hours to be successful, but I’m OK with that because the potential is there. I love the people in our production team the most. They also work really hard and are super talented. This is probably why so many clients stay on for many years. The healthcare benefits aren’t very good. They claim it’s due to Obama Care. Could use more restaurants in the area. It would be nice to have breakfast and lunch provided like Google, maybe even a ping-pong table and a bicycle work station (management-I hope your listening). 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 3.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 5.0 4.0 5.0 713222 Open I wish more money could be spent on national advertising and marketing to get more leads in. Such as radio, TV, billboards, etc. It would also be great if they had a couple of appointment setters and a sales secretary for the team. 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 0.0 Jan 13th, 2021 08:08PM Jan 13th, 2021 08:08PM Catalogs.com
private:catalogs.com https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=713222 Apr 4th, 2018 12:00AM Open Open Catalogs.com Senior Graphic Designer Fort Lauderdale, FL Not As Advertised Nice offices in a great location, right off I-75, walking distance to Publix, and a short drive from downtown Weston shops. Free beverages and snacks. Offices are well-furnished and comfortable. Processes are chaotic, inconsistent and haphazardly documented, if at all. Management and sales regularly make unreasonable promises to clients, fail to communicate said promises to the rest of the team in a timely manner, and refuse to acknowledge the scope of work required to fulfill said promises. They do not offer a health insurance plan. The small monthly stipend they offer instead is paltry, and the lack of this benefit is not compensated for in their salary calculation. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 5.0 2.0 1.0 2.0 3.0 2.0 1.0 713222 Open 1. Your product is a 21st century mobile platform, yet your production process is that of a print shop in 1995. Many of the bottlenecks and hastily produced/error-ridden work that cause your customers to leave could easily be avoided with proper automation, UI/UX and user testing. 2. If you need a Production Manager, hire a Production Manager, i.e. don’t hire a Senior Graphic Designer, and then give them a completely different job without even talking to them about it. 3. Your customers will love you a lot more when you learn to under promise and over deliver. Business 101. There are entire books about it. 4. Speaking of books… Read “Don’t Make Me Think: A Common Sense Approach to Web Usability” by Steve Krug and “Lean UX: Designing Great Products with Agile Teams” by Jeff Gothelf. When Richard and I spoke about user testing, UX and agile development, it was very clear that he had no idea what I was talking about. Again, your product is a 21st century mobile design platform. Walk the walk. 0.0 [{"countHelpful": 0, "languageId": "eng", "userJobTitle": "President", "__typename": "EmployerResponse", "originalLanguageId": null, "id": 1627964, "responseDateTime": "2018-04-09T06:53:05.56", "translationMethod": null, "response": "We do appreciate the constructive criticism and definitely know that our production process has room for improvement as our company is in a high growth mode.
