I loved working at CAP, they care about their employees and provide an environment that makes spending all day in an office more agreeable. I felt involved in changing the machine daily and I would love to return to CAP one day.

Very intelligent employees that are excited about their work. Non-rigid working environment and fast-paced as you would expect in D.C. I gained a ton of professional exposure and there was ample room for growth. I was also given substantive tasks that were enjoyable and was compensated well even as an intern.

Great co-workers, great benefits

American Progress is a great place to work, filled with really nice people who span across the progress spectrum — but that experience is largely based on the team you're on. While some teams thrive and excel, others are poorly ran and result in high turn-over. It can feel a bit stagnant at times, given there's a bit of a glass ceiling when it comes to nonprofit upward mobility, but if you're on a well-ran team, it's really enjoyable.
Work-life balance is great, and the benefits are generous. Plus, it's unionized, so junior staff have a good advocate in their corner.

Horrible Supervisor
|
Have you ever heard that not everyone is meant to be a supervisor that was mine here. I was hired and spent months with no work given to me. The supervisor began to ration work to me. I received a poor performance review after a full year, I never received any indication that my supervisor felt this way. I was soon terminated. My experience here was horrible. The supervisor is no longer working at this institution.
