Great people, robust product and clear direction as a company. Seems like a lot of momentum has been building recently that should position the company for greater growth. People here seem very motivated to bring new and innovative ideas to the industry.

The culture still needs work, though the company does seem to care and is listening to employees. Some of the internal tools could be modernized to help employees be more productive.

Overall, great

There's a team effort, everyone seems to care for one another, and the scope and mission of the company/product is awesome. Tons of potential.
|
The worst I can think of are just growing pains. We're trying to scale and there's a bit of support going too far to one department, but I think this will level out easily in time and we'll be kicking butt in no time.

Huge Steps Forward this Year

As mentioned by one of the other reviewers, some of the recent negative reviews seem pretty suspect (under performer or competition feeling the heat?). Anyway, now that "things" slowing us down have been addressed, huge steps forward are being made and the momentum is coming.
- Value proposition and solution really resonating with event planners, marketers and the martech community
- Strengthened solution with much better UI/UX than before and more to come
- Partners and real enterprise companies reaching out to use to help solve their business problems
- Transparency throughout the company (full company stand-ups 3 x per week, financials, product, customer base)
- Great work-life balance
- Good strategic plan, especially given the consolidation around event management solutions and marketing automation players like Cvent, eTouches, Marketo

- Need to ramp up sales now that some factors limiting the team have been addressed.

Certain is a friendly environment with great employees and a very nice CEO. The company plays in a vertical that is a must have for large organizations and Certain has a few marque accounts/logos.

Certain currently lacks true leadership, a winning culture, and a drive to succeed. We do not have the amenities and resources of Silicon Valley companies. Our solution is built on dated technology and lacks ease of use as represented by the minimal quantity of customers. We get too wrapped around the needs of one large customer forgoing what is required to grow the company. Unfortunately the industry and our competitors are growing faster than we are. Also, we are no longer able to work from home expect 1 day a week.

The cons as I know them aren't company-wide, they're specific to different teams. It's clear that some people are spread too thin, but I think the company is actively working on improving that.

I'm slightly baffled by the flurry of negative reviews given the frequency historical frequency of reviews here, as well as the size of our organization. It doesn't add up.
Here's my honest assessment of Certain.
Pros:
- Career growth opportunity if you have a plan and engage with you manager.
- Company is in a very good position now that a couple individuals detrimental to Certain are no longer with the organization having been replaced by those much more capable.
- Most of my colleague's truly care about the success of the organization.
- All of my colleague's are great to work with.
- Product is as innovative and progressive as any comparable option out on the market.
|
- If we're being brutally honest here, we could have more catered meals.
- Proximity to Moscone can create some problems if you drive in and it's conference season.
- I don't have too many con's to speak of because if you know what you want out of a given situation and you have a plan, not much else really matters.

A strong management team who have not once taken their eyes off the ball in moving toward the company goals, and doing so in a very transparent way. Quarterly All Hands meetings go through all results and metrics for all employees to see and on which comments and questions are welcomed

Although downtown San Francisco location is central to many areas, it is definitely not parking-friendly especially during large shows at Moscone Center which is only 1 block away
