From my first day I was writing code that went into production and during my time there I was empowered to do work that had a substantial impact on user experience. I received very little feedback during my time there, except for at the end when I was evaluated at my supervisor because they had no negative feedback to give me. Management seemed receptive to this feedback when I gave it in my exit interview, so this may no longer be an issue. 1.0 POSITIVE 0.0 5.0 4.0 5.0 0.0 4.0 5.0 835005 Open 0.0 [] INTERN No No 1.0 Jan 17th, 2021 11:17PM Jan 17th, 2021 11:17PM Clean Power Research

private:cleanpowerresearch https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=835005 Nov 16th, 2018 12:00AM Open Open Clean Power Research Software Engineer(Internship) Kirkland, WA Great Place to Work - Good working environment! My colleagues are all smart, friendly, patient and helpful. I learned a lot from them during my stay. My team also has group lunch every Friday, which is a good time to chat and get to know more with each other. The office is also quiet and comfortable with sufficient natural light. - Great projects for interns. Although my intern consists of small (weekly or bi-weekly) projects, they introduced me to a lot of different aspects of the product and required a wide variety of skills. I feel like the process was kinda challenging but inspiring. - Frequent release. At my team, we release every week, which means everything I write will go to the customers the next week and I can also get instant feedback from them. Not all company can provide such precious opportunity to an intern. - Work-life balance. No one works over time in this company. - Not many options for lunch. Only a few places within walking distance, have to do UberEats a lot of the times. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 0.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 4.0 4.0 5.0 835005 Open 0.0 [] INTERN No No 1.0 Jan 17th, 2021 11:17PM Jan 17th, 2021 11:17PM Clean Power Research
private:cleanpowerresearch https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=835005 Apr 26th, 2018 12:00AM Open Open Clean Power Research Software Engineer Kirkland, WA Good place to work to get experience Coworkers are friendly and like-minded over green energy. You get a lot of hands on experience with AWS technologies and working on SAAS type products. Because of the slow revenue, this LLC is working on creating a side shell equity company in order to give some ownership to its employees as an incentive. Work/life balance is excellent. Benefits are good and about what you would expect. Old and some of the new management come from the old Microsoft culture, which seems to leak into this small company's culture. The company traditionally has slow and slow growing revenue streams because of the type of market they are in. So pay is a bit low even by small company standards and raises are small and far between. The company doesn't do much to retain employees so there has been some turnover lately. There is not much room for advancement and titles seem to be relatively meaningless. 0.0 NEUTRAL 1.0 APPROVE 3.0 4.0 5.0 4.0 2.0 3.0 4.0 835005 Open 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 4.0 Jan 17th, 2021 11:17PM Jan 17th, 2021 11:17PM Clean Power Research
private:cleanpowerresearch https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=835005 Mar 21st, 2018 12:00AM Open Open Clean Power Research United States USA The best in the field Clean Power Research is a great place to work because it has the best products in the field and this is energizing. It's exciting to work at a company where everyone is smart, and driven by meaningful work. Atmosphere is fairly laid-back relative to others in the space. As others have mentioned, typical "startup-culture" trappings are missing or non-existent. The location of the office is not the most convenient either and it is in a rather drab office park setting so if you're after these perks, steer clear. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 0.0 5.0 4.0 5.0 4.0 2.0 4.0 835005 Open Empower HR to add some of the perks associated with peers. private:cleanpowerresearch https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=835005 Nov 12th, 2017 12:00AM Open Open Clean Power Research United States USA Software Engineering Intern I really enjoyed my internship experience at Clean Power Research. Ever since the first interaction I had with them from my interviews, I could feel engineers there are very smart but also very good at supporting new people. Working full-time there, I was treated as one of the engineers, and I was able to work on a full-stack project as an individual contributor while I got plenty of help from other engineers, team lead, PM, designer, and VP; and I participated in daily stand-up meetings, testing and releasing stage of the product. Because the company is smaller-scale, I felt like I had more hands-on experience and received more attention from the team than my friends who worked at larger companies. I got to share room with my mentor who I could always ask questions and chat about life; I had weekly 1:1 meeting with the team lead who was transitioning to VP position at the time (he is a really dedicated and trustworthy leader with 10+ years of technical experience in the industry, and always very inspiring and try to support me in any ways he can). People there are pretty work-life balance, so I rarely worked after hours, and I had lots of free time after work. It was my first internship in the software field, so being able to have much hands-on experience as possible was what I was looking for. And I think I was able to get way more out of it than what I expected. The impact that I could make as an intern really surprised me. My project got to push to the production code, and is actually used by their paying customer. The only down side if I have to name one is - since the company is small scale and they only have 2-3 interns per summer, you may not have cool intern swags or intern activities with a big group kind of experience... But there is a weekly team lunch and monthly happy hour, and people there are pretty nice to interns. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 5.0 835005 Open 0.0 [] INTERN No No 0.0 Jan 17th, 2021 11:17PM Jan 17th, 2021 11:17PM Clean Power Research
private:cleanpowerresearch https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=835005 Nov 10th, 2017 12:00AM Open Open Clean Power Research Software Engineer Kirkland, WA Loved working there - Great people to work with. Everyone's voice is heard and respected. Co-workers are smart and provide great feedback without being overbearing. - Strong leadership. Clear vision from the top, communicated with transparency. Company higher ups always make time for and genuinely care about the people that constitute the company, not just the bottom line. - Fun space to work in - renewables continue to grow, and you get to be involved in the innovation. - Variety of interesting technical problems to solve; Different teams present different challenges. - Very little process overhead. Meetings kept to a minimum. Developers spend the vast majority of their time actually writing code. - Kirkland location is great for transit. - Excellent work/life balance. Your nights and weekends are your own. - If you are looking for a very professional, buttoned down work environment, this is a great place. Lots of peace and quiet. - Leadership positions are mostly filled, and it can take a long time to get promotion due to flat structure - Location not great for food options unless you drive a car to work. - If you are looking for "Exciting Startup Culture", you'll have to search elsewhere for your ping pong tables and office kegerator. People are lovely to work with, but don't tend to associate outside of work. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 4.0 5.0 835005 Open - More granularity in promotion/advancement path - Continue expanding morale events for those who are interested in them - Keep being awesome 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 6.0 Jan 17th, 2021 11:17PM Jan 17th, 2021 11:17PM Clean Power Research
