- Dedicated team members
- Great perks and benefits, esp since the acquisition by VMWare. Second to none.
- Office space - great location downtown Boston.
- Caring people. Even though there were/are some cultural issues, the majority of folks here are kind and want to do their best work and help and support each other.
- Emphasis on giving back. Very strong focus on volunteering, charity. The company is super active in the community.

- Tremendous amount of tech debt and infrastructure that is limping along (no notion of continuous integration/development, proper testing environment). There has not been time devoted to actually fix the underlying issues, leading to them just growing worse.
- Old boys club in senior staff- for reasons unclear, these toxic folks are continuously given second and third chances. They need to go- if they didn't have the tenure they do, they would have been left long ago. They were repeatedly highlighted as an issue during culture conversations, but are still there.
- CTO/founder who is better suited for entrepreneurship than leadership. A good person, but this isn't the best place for him to be. Unfortunately, like a lot of folks, unwilling to hear and take into consideration negative feedback/constructive criticism.
- Continuously changing priorities in engineering and unrealistic SLAs and customer demands- insane some of the hoops that they jump through for customers.

Clear out the old-boys club. You know who the toxic individuals are, please don't prioritize tenure over culture or personal behavior. Pull in outside help to help with cultural deficits- there needs to be a dedicated who is trained person rather than a well intentioned individual doing it on the side. CHT is not alone in the tech world with having some cultural friction, but there's a real opportunity to fix it.
Seriously reconsider your infrastructure- it wasn't apparent how bad it was until I got out. Deployment of code, testing strategy, data storage/computation. Cut back on the promises to customers, and spend the time you need to to do a complete revamp of your platform. Engineers are suffering because of it.
Keep up the innovative products. Cloud management is a tremendous field with a massive amount of growth. The company is well aligned to do very very well. Diversify to other clouds, and you have a strong path to continue to be as successful, if not eclipse previous success.
Keep up the support of your customers and your staff. The folks here are so devoted and kind- it's truly the people that make this company who they are. Continue to invest in them. Continue the work you do for the community. You make a difference.
