High energy, poor executive management direction
|
For the outside the company looks great, open floor plan, great recruiting pitch, enticing compensation plan, a crystal castle as their vision of their product. Unfortunately in the beginning weeks you start to see the crumbling facade of what was positioned to be a high energy, collaborative environment which truly was a tooth and nail fight between teams and departments attempting to stay in the limelight, instead of appreciating each other’s accomplishments and ideas. The energy is negative and macabre as I witnessed people would feel pleasure in tearing other teammates ideas down and rejoice in others mistakes.
You need to be careful whom you speak with, it’s better to keep your head down and work your hours.
Honestly, It was not the right culture and fit for me, but I am sure there are people that thrive in that type of environment. Best of luck.

Toxic Work Environment

CloudVirga felt like a good place to work when I started there. However they have a very toxic blame oriented culture that began to emerge over time. It never seemed like everyone was working towards the same goal and most people had a blame first approach. They were always preparing to fail and see who to blame for it. It was very sad, they have a product with high market place potential, but their implementation approach and technical stack will never be able to pull it off.

Cloudvirga is a startup joke. the development is done overseas in Bosnia, the code quality is really bad not to the American standard. Management is strange, they do not really know what they are doing and they yell in every meeting.

The worse organization company ever
|
There are a lot of experiences and smart employees there. However, management seems could not organize the work flow. Requirement changes daily. Policy changes daily. That's why codes are complicated and bugs everywhere. You consistently work and wait for management approval for a long time. Things are always behind. Responsibilities are pushed from one manager to the other manager and to employee. Meetings are all over your calendars. If you have a family, don't even expect work/life balance. Totally not a healthy place to work for.

Not a collaborative environment. No true leadership. No consideration of work and life balance. Expected to work 50 plus hours per week without overtime and be on call all weekend. No review, no raise, no training, no support. No accrued vacation. They say you may take off as much as business allows then they track it and hassle if you request a day off - my experience with only 2 weeks used per year and never a day sick. They give new meaning to 'sweat shop'. Ridiculous.

Bad management

Bad management, all lip services. Always under pressure and overtime on weekends are routine. Turn-over rate is very high. Many good people were just let go without a single day notice in advance - a normal practice there. so be prepared to be let go at anytime....
