The place would be fantastic if they ditched the old management style and favoritism. Friendships mean more than performance and some are awarded for reporting others to management but have no self awareness of their own unprofessional behaviors. Very challenging culture, not at all friendly and supportive. Long term employees are not open to new ideas and procedures and do not respect new ideas, initiatives or people. Very cliquey staff and faculty, its as if they never evolved past high school. Creative place with great studio spaces. Worked in the office once or twice a week for two hours, and was on duty one night per week. Also, had weekend duty two to three times per semester. I really enjoyed my time there and wished the position was full-time. The pay wasn't really that great as I was an Adjunct Professor teaching two full-time classes. The students really made it worth it and I gave as much as I could. My start was a bit rocky as I wish CCS had better training for the "Blackboard" software they wanted us to use. Very tricky to learn. My class also experienced lots of computer failures making it very difficult to teach. Still a great school and I highly recommend! I'm an adjunct, and there are very few opportunities for full-time teaching. Plus, there is bias against promoting adjuncts as opposed to getting a new faculty to relocate. The best art students in the region, lots of great coworkers.
