Hourly staff don't get their overtime & salary staff are really screwed Staff are never thanked for putting in extra time or extra effort There is an atmosphere of fear. VPs are afraid of the president and all staff are afraid of being fired by their own management. The campus isn't bad to look at. Internet speed is incredible. It can seem really small. Chicopee isn't really a super exciting place to be. Small, picturesque campus Small enough to make a difference Can support young people in their education Easy to commute to Cafeteria and Starbucks on site Free gym membership for employees Educational benefits for employee, spouse, and children Time off for most religious holidays and the week between Christmas and New Year's 35 hour work week Most people are pretty nice to work with Developing new programs and have some potential for growth Entrenched bullies get away with awful behavior despite insistence this is a friendly community Compensation below average even for higher education People with good ideas and leadership skills are often driven out or left to flounder Gossipy culture Fear of change inhibits growth and breeds resentment towards new ideas Low expectations and zero accountability Very dependent on tuition revenue so budgeting process is volatile and unpredictable Again, very dependent on tuition so admission standards are low Resistant to criticism even in the face of obvious problems Poor data collection and management, poor measurement of outcomes, people just do what they've always done and act surprised when it doesn't work Usually hire the cheapest person for the job, not the best person for the job "Yes" people do better even if they get no results Many resources are stretched too thin to support new programs and initiatives No advantage or reward for going above the bare minimum -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 NEUTRAL 3.0 2.0 3.0 2.0 3.0 1.0 2.0 130016 Open Be willing to address problems when the issue is staffing, especially in recruitment positions.
